    Default 'It' reference

Did anyone else catch the reference in 83 to It? The "We all float down here"?
"I have an idea. It begins with 'S' and ends with, 'litting their throats'."

"Who's that lookin' good in his swanky new leather hat? Must be Belkar!"

    We did.

If you read the '77' thread, you'll see we all have taken to referring to the Foolamancer as Pennywise.
May you get EXACTLY what you wish for.

I'm sure there can be some use for this thread.

Anyone want to bite the foolamancer's tongue?

I caught the reference, I just wonder what it means...

Pennywise was a what? Not quite human, I thought. Serial Killer, demon, something (It was a LONG time ago since I read that book. Ended with some sort of giant turtle in space or something...)

Anybody who read the book more recently that 10+ years ago have any ideas?

Pennywise was one of the main manifestations of an Aspect of Evil. It could only be seen by people who believed in it, which meant children were its preferred targets (adults, presumably, being less inclined to believe in the supernatural, would not be as easy to influence).

    If I recall correctly.

As to the quote? Pennywise lures kids into the sewers, where they die gruesomely. Stanley is leading those who follow him to their eventual demise... or, at least, the Foolamancer believes so.

    Spoiler
    Show

I seem to recall that IT was actually an Alien lifeform that could a) read minds and b) shapeshift. Thus, it took on the most terrifying aspect of it's victims' fears. It preyed on children not because they necessarily believed in it, but more so for the fact that they were "easier" to lure, easier to frighten, and easier to...well..devour.

    Ahhhh, so desu!

I've never cared much for King, so I didn't get this. Makes a theory in another thread make MUCH more sense now, thanks!

I tend not to be a fan of 8-page threads

Still, it's a good reference given the way this guy acts.

    Talking about References:

At page 21 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0021.html) at the last planel you can see Link from The Legend of Zelda standing in the crowd, despite he's reffered to as an elf you can clearly see that he's wearing the Master-Sword on his back. I'm wondering how he get from Hyrule to Erfworld...

I believe that that elf that looks like Link is an Eager Elf.
