Re: Avatar Battle Royale - Discussion
You're surprised by that? It's pretty clear that Marxism is a highly lawful ideology in the end. It's more syndicalism, leftist anarchism and newer communism that is more chaotic, but the whole idea to implement a ruler to develop the nation after natures law (after all in Dialectic Materialism it is a law of nature that Communism follows Capitalism) is rather lawful. Besides, Marx and (early) Lenin wouldn't be all that emotional to me. Both wrote essays that are on par with Smith in many parts for the time. It's more people like Trotsky or Stalin who were clearly emotionally appealing the masses than doing it rational.

Well, I'm enjoying myself, even if I have absolutely no idea how I'm inserting myself into the strange strange thing everyone here calls a 'story'.
But part of the fun is in the figuring out, lol.SpoilerBladeofObliviom said:
I've only seen a character at anything resembling this level of absurdity thrive exactly once, and he/she/what-the-jongo had the advantage of being written by Gengy, who I look up to as a writer.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale - Discussion
They can talk, they just don't really have much to say, unless they are high-level. The basic elements of the army are thus -
Spoiler
Generic Shade - they are rubbish, to put not too fine a point on it - about as effective as an original nightwing, too. Sometimes armed with swords and other melee weapons, and can talk, but they are basically flying zombies that can't infect people.
Lieutenant Shade - A step up, these are always armed, and can think reasonably well. Yoshi, an accomplished swordsman, took two panels to defeat one, using a sub-par weapon.
Mage Shade - the ranged weapons, these are basically lieutenants, wielding eldritch blasts. They've got a few other tricks, but not many.
King Shade - perhaps a misnomer, as there are quite a few of these, but they take on abilities from more diverse sources (lit:they have PC levels). Warning - some do have phantom steeds!
Character Shade - pending further information from Forrestfire and Wolfman.
Mecha-Nightwing - badass. Each time any character killed his mortal form, he gained another honorific, and more power - this is the last 1/5th of his full name -
Neo-Captain-Sensei-Epic-Hyper-Ultra-Earth-Fire-Air-Water-Yellow-Kryptonite-Win-Pun-Pun-Multi-Hulking-Monty-Mary-Sue-Shoop-Da-Whoop-Zonday-Unobtanium-clad-King-Emperor-Dictator-Master-Mega-Arch-Furher-Dark-Lord-ficer-Supreme-Almighty-Photoquantum-Mega-commander-Darth-Anonymous-Mecha-Nightwing-kun-san.
Say that out loud. I can just about manage it
3 x the height of another avatar, wielding a huge sword, casting epic-level magic, and wearing armour based on Inquisitor Tyrus', he's a force to be reckoned with.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale - Discussion
Someone post a comic, I don't want to double post
Character shade- Perhaps another misnoner, These are merely a high level Mage shade casting a spell that allows him to merge with the lowest level shades to create a form with sembleance, both in image and ability to ABRers, However the copies are always weaker than the original, and only those who have killed Nightwing in his original form, or those the mage shade has observed in combat are viable forms.
Certain abilites of characters are completely out of a shades reach, for instance Randomizer's: "my head must be hit by a ghost-touched weapon/spell to take damage" or Wolfman's: "I can drink your blood and cast light spells.
(note: all shades take extra damage from light spells, whether white or another type).
Those who have killed Nightwing will find their copies are already in use in his army, however only 2 known copies of Randomizer have been made and both are being used by Mecha-nightwing as Bodyguards. (good luck Mechfox)
Little is known of the specifics of this spell except that it takes 3 shades (1 mage, two grunts) to form a Yeril shade and 5 (again just one mage, and four grunts) to create a Kpenguin shade. -More information pending-offical catalogger of all the reasons why single word spells should not take more than one page for the fanclub

Re: Avatar Battle Royale - Discussion
Ok, that's the last of Ballad of the Mystery Figures, we won't be seeing them again until we actually get to Tajira
EDIT: Oh, and the reason we can understand what they're saying is because Ins is using Tongues, and it'd be fairly pointless to post comic after comic of purely "Chu"

I don't know what it does but it's one of those things that calamity used as soap, way back in the fortress of vengence.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale - Discussion
Given how the Fortress of Vengeance was destroyed, we can probably rest easy that I've never killed Nightwing (Although OOC I have made a punching bag with him/his likeness on it).
And the block/soap is a Sovice block, they were the reason that Fortress had to be obliterated and the reason why I'm presently assumed dead
