Re: Failing Saves
Let me guess: a dashing blonde bard with charisma out the wazoo, his half-ghost nemesis, a pretty elven sorceress, and the bard's rapier who is a transformed Warforged?

Re: Failing Saves
Hehe that was rather funny, kicks to the groin are always a welcome sight in a webcomic

Re: Failing Saves
Are there any tutorials out there specifically geared at helping people do comics like these with inkscape? I.E. that specialize in going mouths, eyes, expressions, etc?

Re: Failing Saves
You know, I don't think I've ever seen one on here. I think it would be a good idea, and someone will most likely get around to doing one at some point, as the amount of webcomic on here has exploded in the last month.
With webcomics it is far more up to the individual artist though, there's no real formula. I understand Salmon uses an art board with facial expressions and poses for each of his characters, whereas I use a single model and change it for every panel. His is probably the best way to do it.
I've never seen a guide to webcomicing, but there are people who've been active on here much longer than I who may be able to rovide you with a link to one somewhere.

Re: Failing Saves
Actually, speaking of fortified groin armour, I (as well as many other games) play RuneQuest, which has hit locations. One of my favorite times in a game I trialed was the following:
GM (Me): And the Croc's critical hit hits you in the...Abdomen. *laughs*
Player 1: WTF is an "Abdomen"? Speak english.
GM: I am! "Abdomen" means...well, balls. You got critically bitten in the freakin' nuts by a croc. You are now bleeding to death, while writhing in pain on the ground. Also, your manhood appears to be flowing down the cro'cs throat.
Player 1: *makes a small noise and falls off chair*
Player 2: I bet the croc's thinkin' "Eunooky-nooky! Snip, snip!"
Players (except for player one): *All laugh*
*Later in the game, when the have calmed down*
GM: Okay, you're back in Caravas. You can buy new stuff, or get your stuff enchanted.
Player 2: Er...Can I get an Armour Enchantment for my nuts?
Players (all in unison): Yeah, me too?
GM: *laugh*Attack of the most awesome Ceikatar!!!!!
My stocks:OOTS 40, HNJO 88, GOLD 5.
What do you get when you cross Star Wars, Star Trek, OD&D, and percentile rolls, and jumble it up in a big pot of surrealism? This game right here.

Re: Failing Saves
It would need to be a Warforged Bard/Dirgesinger (LibMor) with the catchphrase of "I'm so depressed"

If he had been wearing his chain mail bikini maybe he wouldn't have that problem.

Re: Failing Saves
Chain mail does not help at all when you are hit with something blunt (kicked, punched, smashed with a mace). Blunt weapons are designed to smash stuff underneath the armor.
However, a codpiece would help (there is a reason why a lot of people would not be able to afford body armor, buy would still get at least a codpiece. Once the rape and pillage part of the war comes, they want to be able to do both).Last edited by NikkTheTrick; 2007-12-06 at 01:37 PM.

Re: Failing Saves
OK, I got inkscape and was wondering how to do light effects like the campfire since I want to do a SF strip and will want to make energy weapons, engine flares, etc.
Any pointers?
