Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Alright, I have terrible news.
InkScape crashed abruptly, and now I'm having trouble opening page 12. I can only assume it's been corrupted. Therefore, I've lost a good few hours of intermittent work (Between driving lessons and being ordered to drive to the takeaway)
This includes the forward-facing designs and the from-behind designs I had to make especially just to put this together.
EDIT: Yup, it's gone completely, all that hard work obliterated in an instant
With that, I can't promise getting 12 up before Monday.Last edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2007-11-22 at 04:38 PM.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Okay, as a special treat, since I haven't held to the promise of a Monday-Thursday output on the first go, here's a sneak preview of 2 of the new villains involved in Book 4
Spire: Generalist spellcaster, ill-tempered but extremely loyal to Sildyu.
Mayhex: Illusion specialist, expert with Fear and Mind-Affecting effects. Very much insane, but she has enough left to be useful and reliable.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
You have a serious problem of overconfidence.
Who said book 1 will ever succeed? and you are drawing book 4 people already?
What makes you so sure you can publish it anyway?
Don't get me wrong, this is very good drawing.
But you are going too far, too fast.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Presently, I'm not intending to publish these. The "book" segmentation is just so I can tell where significant story arcs end.
And overconfidence? I'm still wondering why people think these are good! If anything, I'm just an Aspy. I come up with a slimly described idea and I extrapolate the heck out of it compulsively until it's a finished product, which is what's happened here with 4 stretches of plot and a myriad of characters long before most of them will even show up.
At any rate, I just drew these two to make up for the lack of comic today.
EDIT: Come to think of it, Asperger's is probably a factor in why my art is apparently so good. I use InkScape, so it's all vectors. Vectors equates to numerical values in relation to each other with a delicately-controlled balance between...
Yeah, it may be involvedLast edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2007-11-22 at 07:16 PM.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Right, it may be very late, but I might be able to get Page 12 out by the end of the day

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Geez, I'm getting compliments all across the board and beyond it for this...I honestly can't say I thought I was that good
The next page should be up later today, in which the Arcanians start fighting back. I've also decided that, each time I miss a date, I'll put up a sneak peak. That way, I'm motivated to get the comic done because if I don't I'll reveal the storyline piece by piece anywaysLast edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2007-11-26 at 05:22 AM.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Okay, I'm just doing the designs for the troops that are appearing in the next comic, and I thought it worth stating:
Seen, in the dark, from the front, the Immortals look scary as heck
EDIT: See what I mean?

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
nice...skateboards...
Not quite helinan technology, but not very far from it. making the world even more "realistic" in terms of "close technology trees".
Two questions:
Is this the pilot from ABR?
And are these lime-green boots of speed?

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
The "skateboards" are skyboards with Jovocian Turbine thrusters (Way, way, way smaller versions than the ones on the Citadel of Bis Anu). The boots are indeed Boots of Speeds, that enhance the velocity they can reach with the turbines.
Their big weaknes I'd say is that, because of their small size, the turbines can't have a direct link to the generators. So instead, they're all linked via tiny portals to the main ones powering the city...
The engineer in the Immortal Storage area is wearing regulation Arcanian uniform for his station, which is what Pilot wears.Last edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2007-11-26 at 01:09 PM.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Nice... now I want to make a comic. I've had ideas rattling around in my brain (and in my sketchbook) forever, but could I successfully bring those ideas to fruition? Hmm...
Anyway, awesome job. I'm gonna keep my eye on you, Igon.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
On that note, I might do the "Bloody History of Helina" jest so we will have another ABR spinoff.
But that will wait to my skills to improve.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
My word I've started a trend...the first page of comments was right!
Anyways, by my math, if I don't miss another update, the Fall of Arcania story arc should be over the Thursday after Christmas.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
Well, I wouldn't do an ABR-related comic. But it would certainly be OotS-inspired.

Re: Remember: An ABR flashback
There's nothing really wrong with an ABR comic, but they do tend to have quite a few in-jokes that most "outsiders" (Not the creature type!) find inaccessible. The advantage of a prequel ABR comic, however, is that most in-jokes are kind of impossible
Oh, speaking of which, Nameless? Is it alright if your appearance during the Fall of Arcania involves breasts?
