Good to see everyone home safe. Looks like a great time, of course. Oh and thanks (thnx) for the message. I also assume that the backward's "E" as a three was only because scrabble doesn't have numbers, thus no four. : P

Yeah, I guess I should fess up before Alarra gets a chance to announce it. I, Tormsskull, the world-renowned poker expert (according the ZombieRockStar), was in fact defeated by Alarra's amazing poker skillz.

My famous last words were "Flush", to which she replied "Bigger flush".

As I was telling my co-workers about what an awesome weekend it was I had a strange revelation... I didn't find out the real names of almost half the people there.

It was still awesome. I'm now contemplating the purchase of an Origins pass. I can afford the pass, I'm not sure I can afford the time off.

Hahah, yeah... there were a handful of people which I hadn't known the read names of, or did and forgot. I'm Katie (or Kathlin... either or), nice to meet you.

yea i was a bit confuzzled. people kept saying things like "hey zombie" and "yea b-man" that i figured it was only natural to keep using screen names on the meetup. when i saw the meetup picture i starting saying "thats B-man, thats Zombie rock star, thats Ego Slayer, theres Masked Llama..." then Sha'uri pointed out we didn't get anyones real name to stick at all.

But I am B-Man IRL! I have absorbed the nickname and make people call me B-Man (or at least B)!

Now that I think of it... I remember only a few names too... ._.

The previous meetup I went to we only rarely used forum names, except for Llama and Hippie. I actually forgot a few of the names from that one already.

I already knew Alarra, Zeb and Llama's (even though Llama goes by Llama much of the time anyway). I actually knew Zombie's from discussions of previous meet-ups. I think the only name I really picked up this meetup was Tormsskull. I assumed SteveERB and samiam are in fact Steve and Sam, but that could just be a clever ruse on their parts.

In my case though, I actually do prefer my real name to my forum name in most cases. So I'm Ken, it's nice to have met you all. I blog (rarely) as the Valiant Turtle, so it's okay as is just Turtle.

    Couple points worth remembering:
    • Who needs lyrics when you have improvise?
    • Enter Sandman can be overdone (which is why I'm now learning the rest of the song ._. meep)
    • It's not bad being quintessentially hopeless, is it?
    • Kubb is an awesome game.
    • Unconventional skating is painful.
    • Once Enter Sandman enters your head, it never leaves. Ever. No, not even then.

Yeah.....this meetup was one of the funnest yet, and I had a grand old time. And hah! With the exception of RandomNPC and Sha'uri, I know and remember all of your names! (psst....Alarra....you knew almost everyone's name before you went there....so?)

Grr....thanks B. I actually had that song -out- of my head by this point. It'd been replaced by I Think I'm Paranoid. But now, whee...enter sandman is back. You know, it's been a really long time since I've had a song not from Rockband in my head.

I, too, knew most people's names from other meetups. One advantage to getting there early is that we got to learn people's names we didn't know and talk to them a bit before getting new names added in. Later comers, on the other hand, would be accosted with a flurry of new names and would have a more difficult time remembering them all.

Hippie - no, you're brew didn't cause any hangover that was exceedingly bad. It was just really good. And it wouldn't stop coming out of the bottle so you had to drink, like, half of that giant bottle before you could settle down and do something besides try not to make a mess. Making for some faster drinking than most are accustomed to. In the future I'll have to remember to bring a mug from which to drink instead of doing it straight from the bottle.

We're glad everyone had as much fun as they did playing Rock Band. Supagoof got us hooked in Minneapolis and we thought we'd give folks a chance to play without having to shell out $175 to do so. And it's WAY more fun with a lot of people. You all seemed to pick it up pretty well, too. Phoe was amazing on the guitar and Raldor picked up drums like no one I've seen. I was surprised at how many good voices there were, though of course ZRS wins the "Power Vocals" award (I'll still brace myself every time I hear a pause or a break in a song, waiting for you to kick off your overdrive).

Werewolf in person was fantastic. It would be really cool to try it with a few more people (we had 12 to begin with). ((LLama, I am totally expecting you to run Chalupa Werewolf in the near future! And I have dibs on Sour Cream.))

Yeah, that's probably because I was right there with you for most of your Rock Bank awesomery. Seriously, its not fair when one person rocks on ALL of the instruments.

lol. Dude, on my way back as soon as I got within range of the Detroit Rock stations I turned on the Riff, and what do you know, it was the Metallica 3 song block. Amazingly, Enter Sandman was not part of the three.

    Things I learned:
    • I am much better at actual guitar than Rock Band guitar/Guitar Hero. In fact, I am outright terrible without any strings to deal with.
    • American pool tables will, in fact, accept Canadian quarters. I find this amusing.
    • I apparently do not know how to properly *Tackle-hug-kiss!* in person, despite how good I may seem here.

You shouldn't do that, 'cause I'd teach you the rest of the song!

Is it bad that I'm the one scared about teaching the rest of the song?!

It's too easy to play and incredibly difficult to forget.

You can't. Only a moderator can. It just so happens there was a moderator participating in this thread when it was mentioned how convenient a poll would be for this particular discussion.
