"There have been a few that pass through. They don't bother us, as they seem intent on getting to the other side of the forest." Kisha shrugs.

Hist groaned inwardly at Kisha's words, but his face quickly recovered a smile

Do not worry about anything right now. As is, this is a beautiful, perfect time. Let it remain so.

He doesn't join the others in their happiness though, but continues to sit at a distance, watching.

[Lochar]

One of the other dryads breaks away from her sisters and walks over to Hist. "Are you not happy for Sarai and Reid?" She looks over at the two. "I think they will be good for each other."

She sits down across from Hist. "I am Aurica, by the way."

Hist

Hist.

The Lightborn indicates himself.

And I agree. I know Reid, and whirlst I do not know Sarai as well, I am certain they will do well together. I mean, you only have to look at them... they will be a perfect couple, and my happiness for them knows no bounds.

Hist looks at the happy pair, a tear forming in his eyes, but a smile on his lips.

[Lochar]

"You are sad though? Have you lost a mate?" Aurica gives you an odd look, tilting her head slightly.

[Moral Wiz]

Hist

Oh no.

Hist laughs, in spite of himself.

It's just... well... I... I haven't gotten to see this sort of... well; holiness much in my life before. Not such... such total, unconditional, unblemished happiness. No cloud on the horizon. It's... oh, I don't have the words.

He chuckles at his own incoherence.

[Lochar]

"Ah. Well, come. Share and enjoy the happiness then. Do not seperate yourself from it. Everyone deserves happiness, all that they can manage." Aurica stands and moves away, beckoning Hist to join the rest of them.

[Moral Wiz]

Hist

But...

Hist looks anxious for a moment, and then he smiles again.

Very well, Aurica. And thank you.

He returns to the group, the broadest smile he's even worn on his face.

It took Aurica to persuade you share in this? Pitiful

But...

No! No buts. What did you just tell yourself? We all need to be happy now. And we can be.

This is a perfect moment. Anything else can wait.

Grazys Senneker

The binder also shrugs. "Fair 'nuff. Let's join tha others in celebratin', hm?" he asks, proferring his arm in order to escort the dryad over to the others.

Dothen

Dothen looks up from his dinner prep watching the ladies drag Hist into the fun. He cracks a smile and setting the pan to simmer for a minute he breaks out his flute and begins to play a happy joyful song about the ladies of spring.

Dothen's cheerful music pipes through the grove. While not grand, the simple tune is a happy one. One that actually has faint refrains that several of you recognize as part of the wedding march.

Reid

Reid is a bit quiet throughout the festivities, although he does strip off his armour, the better to relax and actually dance, a bit clumsily, with Sarai. Days of intense care and worry seem to be in serious danger of dropping away from his shoulders, and every time he looks at or is touched by Sarai, an instinctive smile comes to his lips. He is, in short, young and goofily in love.

When it comes time to partake of Dothen's fabulous cooking, Reid rises and holds up a cup.

Friends...when I came to this continent, I came to save souls, and to push back the darkness. How could I possibly have known that this place, which groaned for so long under its troubles, would have in it the capacity for so much beauty, so much joy. And that the soul that most needed saving...was my own. Hist, Grazys, and Dothen, you have helped a callow boy see a few of his own blindnesses and blunders, and your courage and wisdom inspire me.

He reaches down to take Sarai's hand.

Sarai. You have taught, and will teach, this simple boy, more about life in one day than I took from a year in monasteries and on battlefield. May the sunshine linger on your leaves, and your kindness take firm root in my heart.

A shadow of hesitation crosses his brown, but he smiles quickly and sits.

The now smiling Hist blushes slightly at Reid's words.

Come now Reid! This, if any time, should be when we all make merry. Dothen? Do you know "A Perfect time"?

Assuming Dothen does, Hist smilles, and actually breaks into song, one he seemingly knows well.

Laughing, finally, at Hist's words, Reid eagerly leans in and laps up Hist's joyous tune, applauding enthusiastically at the end.

Glad that his friends are enjoying themselves, Grazys allows himself to let go of his anger somewhat, at least for a time.

Dothen

Dothen sometime in the night steps up with his mug of ale, he catches the eyes of the men Well friends it seems I have failed ya'll at last. When I originally met ya I was trying ta save ya from being stuck in a tree He indicated the dryad with awave of his arm and a conspiritorial wink. He continues with an overly dramatic attitude But alas I have failed and one them has ensnared ya anyway. Seems like ya want to stick...ahhh you finish it. Good luck to ya two.

The binder snickers behind his hand, a wide grin splitting his face.

[Greyen]

Dothen

Git yer mind outta the gutter Grazys. Dothen snickers as he harmlessly tosses the end of an onion at the offending binder.

Feigning offense as he ducks the onion, Grazys pouts, "Why should I? It's fun. Besides you need company down there. Wouldn't want you to get lonely."

Reid

Glowingly ignorant of Dothen's innuendo, Reid simply hugs Sarai and grins uncomprehendingly at Dothen.

If this is what it is to be caught in a tree, call me a tree-hugger.

In what passes for humour at the monastery, he adds:

Just another dumb sap, I guess.

The binder covers his mouth and puffs up his cheeks. "I think I'm gonna be sick!" he chokes, then bursts out laughing.

Hist, sencing an oppertunity for a laugh, assumes a very diginified position.

Please excuse me. If this is going to degenerate into stupid jokes.. well.. I'll have to lea....

At that the expression of mock seriousness breaks up into a smile and a wink.

Dothen

Dothen howls with laughter. Now you tree indicating his three friends are corrupt straight down to yer roots.

Sarai snuggles into Reid's embrace as she and the other dryads giggle at the word play.

Reid

As the evening's celebration's wind down, Reid finds it more and more difficult to keep his eyes open. He knows he should be settling into his bedroll, but can't quite seem to let go of Sarai. There's a huge yawn.

Well, I'm an early riser, so it's getting late for me. Sarai, where would be a good place for me to...set up my bed?

There are more layers in the question than Reid would readily admit, and he hesitates. He has no right to expect...

[Lochar]

Sarai smiles at Reid's question. "Come, I'll show you where you can lay out your bed, love." Sarai will stand and draw Reid away from the grove of trees, showing him a secluded location.

[Greyen]

Dothen

Dothen waves the other two over as Reid makes his way away from them. I think we may need to stay a day or two to let those two enjoy themselves, and rest the horses before we press on. Maybe we can get one of the forest beasties to carry one of us to the far edge of the forest while we rest the horses. We can regain our lost days that way. One that person gets to the far side they portal back to us and then we all portal to the far side. Dothen makes camp and cleans up the food mess as he speaks.

Before bedding down he checks on the horses to make sure they haven't wandered off.

You all can lay out for the night in the grove, and the night passes quietly, with no disturbances for any of you. The morning sun rises the next day to clear skies and a warm breeze.

Dothen

Dothen spends the night stalking small furry animals. Catching them and releasing them. He is not very sucessful in finding many.

After an early morning nap, he preps breakfast and walks the horses after brushing them down. These guys need another day or two before we can ride them. Does anyone want to try and trek out for a few days then portal back to us so we don't lose that much ground? Maybe one of the four-legged forest denizens can carry one of us out?

Dothen watches Reid for a moment and says I think Reid needs to hang out and enjoy himself for a day or two. Who wants to go?

"I'd be up for it, but I'm not the most...alert amongst us," the binder grins sheepishly. "I can bind with Malphas for the little birdie scout, but I'm no woodsman either. Buer might help there, but an extra set of eyes would go far, too. So, a little help an' time for my binding an' I'll be ready to roll."
