Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
The old thread is dead. Long live the thread.
Quoted From Lilly on the other threads. I am guessing this one works fairly similar.
<hr>
If you do not wish to request an avatar but still want a custom made one:
The Adoption Center is Open!
Erfworld Avatar Artists: If you don't want your name up here, I will edit it straight away.
To all others: It is considered bad form to use an avatar without asking permission of the artist. Unless, of course, you have it specifically made for you. Please ask before you use any of the avatars in the portfolios of the artists unless it states in their requisites or on their portfolio site that you may use the avatar without asking permission.
If after you've posted your request to the request thread twice and there is no response, please PM one of the active artists below. (Do not repost your request until at least 48 hours after your original request, please.)
If you are PMing a request please do not PM multiple artists. They don't want to waste their time doing a favour for you if you've already got someone else doing the exact same thing.
A slight suggestion: to save loading time to make a post, please make a link to your picture after 3 days to make it easier on dial-up.
Guides to Making Avatars:
Please check here before you post a question about how to make your own avatars.
Adobe Illustrator

Inkscape and Gimp

This is basically a hub for those who want to monopolize on the erfworld world of avatars.
Avatarists known to create these masterpieces:
Gengy
Abardam
DArKandEViL
Danielf
Tomb Raven
Dr. Bath
((If you want your name removed or added pm me. It will be best to check there sigs if they are taking requests etc))
Lifted from Death's original thread.
Roll up, roll up! Join in the fun. If you had a request in the old thread, please repost it hear for ease of veiwing. If you've never made an Erfworld-style avatar just have a go, most of the old guard of Erfatar makers have stopped, so it's in desparate need of fresh blood.
A tutorial type thing may be forthcoming, but no promises.

Wow...I'm speechless. I forgot I even made that request, and now here it is, in all it's magnificence. I absolutely love it, but I'm going to put it up after Christmas. Thanks for the awesome Erfworld avatar

Re: Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
BZZT!
Incorrect. That particular avatar was done on 'the GIMP', but usually I do them on MSpaint, or they're hand drawn. I've done a grand total of two on Inkscape, the cybowg dwagon and Moon Called's avatar.
To do it on the GIMP you have to have a tablet, so for most I'd suggest hand drawn. But paint can produce better results.
Abardam, Gengy and Urodivoi(sp.) all used Inkscape or similar vector programs on top of hand drawn bases, I think.

Re: Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
Hmmm... An Erfworld version of my current Avatar? It would be new territory, since orcs and half-orcs have never been seen in Erfworld, as of yet...
But I'm not sure where I'd put it. I'm quite happy with my current Avatar, and don't have any room in my Signature, unless I spoilerized it.
Erfworld supports flying units, and flying surfboards rock out loud! Thanks to Ceika (X2), Yeril, Holammer and Dr. Bath for the Avatars!

I'll have a go at yours later, Surfing HalfOrc.
In the meantime, here is one of the avatars for Zargonix.
It's probably a bit too detailed, but whatever...

My current avatar (Sneak) in Erf-style would be nice, if anyone has the time to do it. I've been looking for an interesting new avvie for a while now.

Re: Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
Well, hello Mr Bath!
I, well, I might have a request..
Heh, i kind of adore Darth Nihilus, lately.
Don't know why, it must be the mask, though..
Might try to polymorph into one, as well!
So, if should anyone pick this up, i have to give you the details.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Nihilus
Here's a link with some photos.
He wields a cool lightsaber, but i want you to draw a blue-hilted-katana instead.
Thanks in advance, people (Or should i say Dr Bath? How many erfworld artists have we got?), have a nice holiday!
PS: I completely forgot! If you make me the avvie, i have to tell you i want also the not-resized picture of him. (both resized and not resized pics)
I JUST LOVE THIS GUY!Last edited by Nazde Bahatur; 2007-12-17 at 10:39 PM.

Re: Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
Rerun from the previous thread:
I want to make a request of an avatar of Avienda, from the wheel of time.
I would love one in Erfworld style.
thanks in advance,
-Battleburn
P.S.: Here is another example of a maiden of the spear like Avienda, I really like her pose, ready to fight, and with all of the maidens weapons.
thanx to Abardam for these fantastic Erfworldstyle sigatars
For the awesome 'The Wolf'-sigatar I thank Sampi.
Kd7sov, thank you for the Girl Genius, Agatha Heterodyne avatar

Re: Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
Blargh! So many requests! I'll see what I can do, but bear in mind that it takes:
15-30 minutes to sketch
10-15 minutes to ink
10-20 minutes to colour
5-10 minutes to format and upload to internet.
So it quite often takes a while for me to make one of these. Also, I'm away from the end of this week, so unless I can train someone to take my place (or one of the older artists come back *nudgenudge*) Some of you may have to wait a while.
@Vulion, overall good, I wouldn't suggest using inkscape, but that's your decision, but a few niggling bits that don't work.
a) The head is both a bit too small and too round. It should really not be done with the elipse tool at all, line would work much better. If you look at Jami's guide at the top of the page, you can see that the heads are sort of rounded square(-ish) with a flatter bottom jaw.
b) the arms are a bit like tenticles, if you put in a sharper turn at the elbow it will probably look a lot better.
c) the body seems a bit long to me, but that could be because the arms are short and the head is a bit small.
On a side note, did you mean to give him two different skin tones?
Like I said, a good start. Please keep going, it would be great for some new people to join in.

It looks to me like the cloak is over the arm, cutting a bit off. This Erfwood style looks interesting, I may well give it a go.

Re: Request an Erfworld Style Avatar mk.II
What I mean is that posting more requests to prevent the thread for dying wouldn't necessarily be a good idea, the good doctor probably has a lot on his plate already. If the thread drops down, so be it. I'm sure Dr. Bath will work on the requests and when they're done, he'll post them here, so the thread won't die.
