    Just a moment, friend. You have, I'm afraid, caught me using the chamberpot. Please allow me to clean up for a moment.

    There is a faint rattle in the doorknob, but it does not open. Duran comes clanking up alongside Oberon as he is counting to ten.

    Jonah, catching on late to the idea of heading back to check on Erelith, nods to Rhys.

    A pleasure to meet you sir, and your assistance was most appreciated. But I'm afraid that I should check on my companions' rather abrupt departure.

    He moves with some difficulty through the dense scrub to the door, and starts jogging to the far end of the long hallway.

    Oberon tries to turn the knob to open the door, only to find that the handle turns only a little, and very reluctantly at that, and that the door does not push open as it did several minutes ago.

    Just a moment! I'll be right out!

    If its magic the only thing it did for goatboy was give him delusions of adequecy. Tyz snickers and tosses the medallion and the other "trophies" to Rhys. If you can identify anything, Ill have your back in a fight. But if you steal my spoils stranger Ill give you a crimson smile from ear to ear. The halfling says nonchalantly smiling over his shoulder.

    Slightly taken aback by Tyz's comment, Rhys pauses for a second before snickering.

    Well, I was going to make you more agile, in case there was something on the other side of that door, but clearly I need to work on a spell to make you more charming instead. Or maybe just making you bigger would be just as effective.

    Sadly, there's no text to decipher. The medallion does have a certain heft and weight to it that suggests that it's more than ornamental. The same complex diamond pattern repeats on both sides, identical to Rhys' cursory inspection. The medallion's patterns and manufacture don't match any of the common trinkets Rhys has seen before. He notices that the edge does not form a perfect circle, but a 14-sided shape.

    Confirming that the door was unlocked took two rounds. The listen check takes us up to three. Oberon can go ahead and make his rolls.


    Rhys hears a faint snapping sound from the far side of the door. And then hears Oberon clear his throat behind Rhys. The nimble man is just able to step clear of the door before Oberon lays in with his Eldritch magics.

    Well, the rolls were about good enough.


    As all five gather outside the door, Oberon lays into it with an acrid-smelling blast of energy that punches a 4' hole in the middle of it. It's easy to see that what had been holding it in place was a mass of sticky grey goo.

    Beyond, the bedroom looks completely different than it had. The wardrobe was more or less where it had been, but one door hung limply open, and it looked empty inside.

    The bed that had been sumptously attired when Fado had lain Erelith on it now seemed mouldy, sagging and disgusting. Of course, that effect was only augmented by the fact that it was currently straddled by a grey-furred spider-creature with a body the size of a large dog. And that it had already bitten off Erelith's head, and was seemed to be beginning to work on his chest cavity.

    Standing next to the bed, looking much as he had but with a lot more blood on him, was Fado. He had a bloody lump of some organ - the liver? Yes, the liver - in one hand, and a very large smile on his face.

    Impatient, aren't we? Well, welcome to my parlour.

    The hole in the door requires a DC 5 jump check for Tyz, and everyone else needs to squeeze through (two squares worth of movement). Of course, a second hit or blast might open the rest of the door at this point...

    I'm going to give Diarmuid a few more hours to chime in, then move us forward this evening.

    And Foobar, just so you're clear: 5' stepping through the doorway will have you more or less blocking the hole in the door for the others. Since you're low in the initiative order, I suspect this won't be a problem, but wanted you to be clear.
