Marko

Marko sucked in a breath before dashing back up the tunnel to warn the rest of the group. Gripping his crossbow, he returned to the landing and crept within range of the creature banging the gong. Uttering a short prayer to Ahto, he took aim, and let fly. He moved to reload even before the bolt reached its target.

Waiting outside the cave, with his bow in hand, Jeff asks Althea:So, after we finish this mission, want to get a drink ?

Marko's crossbow bolt strikes the goblin banging the gong but does not fell him. His shout draws attention and the the goblins and men with the long poles start to put them down, but a man on the mesa whirls about when the gong stops and shouts at them, and they take up their ready position at the point where the lava springs forth from the mesa (of course a few feet back from the heat - evidently that's what the poles are for).

From the direction of the man on the mesa, some of the enemy at the foot of the stairs to Marko's left turn and point their crossbows at him.

Two more figures appear on the mesa, and one of the original persons standing on the mesa - a giant of some sort, perhaps an ogre - turns to fight them. Marko realizes with surprise that the two new persons are Klesha and Verona, though he can't distinguish one from the other at this distance, about 200 feet.

Amazed none of the goblins or men were moving to attack him, Marko continued to fire, first at the goblin, then at the men. Whatever they were doing, it appeared to be worth disrupting.

Three crossbow bolts whistle up from the base of the stairs to the left, fortunately missing the adventurers.

Durx squints and identifies the other members of the adventurer's guild down by the bridge over the lava on the left side. Berwin is fighting the last standing foe by the bridge while Ioth and Zan attempt to open some large cages.

The ogre on the mesa takes a step forward to swing at one of the sisters and somehow manages to fall off the mesa. The sisters then advance toward the other persons on the mesa, whose backs are turned.

Marko shivered as a crossbow bolt whizzed past his head. Taking aim at the opposing shooter, he squeezed the trigger.
