I am Legend+DND+E6= ?
OK first off I'm not posting this in homebrew because I'm not making any thing I'm only asking for advice and material for a new game.
So basically the game is this I'm using the E6 rules along with defense bonus and Armor as Damage reduction variant to the game.
The setting will be like a 19th century version of the movie I am Legend, but with magic and more quite a few more survivors still alive. Infected humans will have more or less the Feral template applied to them and as the campaign goes on and the Infection takes more and more hold of them I plan to give them Humanoid hitdice to up challenge rating and the abilities they have. Naturally the PC will be fighting other survivor groups and organizations still in the main city they are in.
The Virus is man made with the help of magic. As I said it will basically be the Feral template from Savage species but with light blindness and bigger hits to mental stats.
My main issue is one of needing stats for technology of the time. I've been thinking D20 moderns D20 past could help me here but am not sure. I mostly need stats and rules for guns but other things like trains would be useful as well. Will D20 past be good for this game or should I look at something else.
Also anyone who has ran an E6 game before, input would be nice as this will be my first time with the system.

Re: I am Legend+DND+E6= ?
One thing you might want to be aware of is that, in the short story the film was based upon, the things that humans mutated into were actually vampires. The film changed it, if I understand correctly, to make it more science fiction and less fantasy - which obviously isn't a concern for you, and if E6 has preexisting vampire stats of some kind that could make things easier for you.
I'm not personally aware of the E6 system... is there a link of some kind I could look at?
Nice campaign concept overall, though. The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread. - Anatole France

Re: I am Legend+DND+E6= ?
Well I've not really read the book and to be honest I'm not like making my game rest on the movie that much its just the same kind of idea. Personally I like how they were in the move because they were not vampires or zombies despite the labels people attached to them. Thats why I'm using the a slight mod of the feral template and not a zombie or undead template.
For other people who do not know what E6 is its uses all the rules of DND but you stop leveling at level 6 instead gaining extra feats every 5000 XP for a gritter game. Thats the system in a nut shell for more see my link in my original post or the one given by Chronicled.

There's D20 Past.
I've checked it out, it had some neat stuff, and I think it covers your needs, but I haven't played it. You'll have to convert it to E6 of course, but I don't think it'll be more difficult than converting D&D to E6.

Re: I am Legend+DND+E6= ?
Interesting question should I allow effects like favored enemy to effect infected? I'm not sure does that ability and others like it normally work on creatures with applied templates.
