Re: Bushranger's Bodaciously Buffed Random Banter-y Rooster #93
Apparently there was a limit of 1489 on the b) question.
The question: [insert quote from Source 5 about Henry's luck] How far do you agree with the statement that Henry relied more on luck than anything else? Use the sources and your own knowledge.
I think. Definitely about Henry's luck and skill.
And there might have been an up to [insert date] but I was so flustered from the ink asplosion I didn't not think there was a date. I did cover a lot of pre-1489 stuff though so I may still get a good grade.
EDIT: I sincerely advise you get the Christmas Story. It's short and sweet and mixes two different time stories.
Maya; Solitaire and Sophie's World also have a common thread
SpoilerThe Joker shows up or is mentioned in all three as someone who knows more than normal people. Think the rabbit allegory. The one who climbs above is the Joker.
and they're so evocative.

Re: Bushranger's Bodaciously Buffed Random Banter-y Rooster #93
That reminds me of some of the essay questions on the SAT test (a standardized test that's often a baseline for college admissions), except theirs are often philosophical. Something about truth or luck or predestination or something like that....anyway, I did poorly on the essay because I was too succinct. They didn't TELL us that it should be long, of course - there was no word limit - but I guess one page wasn't enough. They wanted TWO.

Quincunx, I really love your current avatar.
Yes, as Phoenix already said, they're notorious for this. Still, poor little warrior.
I just realised it is now exactly a year that I have been here. Thank you for being part of one of the hardest years in my life, I guess.
And today I was at my fathers place to congratulate my sister on her fifth birthday, which she had yesterday. It was nice. It took me two hours to get there and I spent one hour on waiting together with my father, and working on the PC, but it was nice. She was sad that I had to leave because I have school tomorrow.
Baker Street Muse by Jethro Tull is wonderful, oh so wonderful.
That is all.

Thanks, CSK. I wish the intended recipient had been able to pick it up--it was supposed to be a rough draft, with later colorization and embellishment. Since the hard drive it was on did a nosedive, I suppose that's for the best.

@Curly. Don't worry. Seriously. Going over the word limit isn't the end of the world most markers will ignore it to a certain extent anyway. And drifting off topic isn't so bad either, it's just a teensy bit of wasted time. Don't worry, you'll have done well whatever. You can trust me. I know Science!

Re: Bushranger's Bodaciously Buffed Random Banter-y Rooster #93
Huh?????
There's no word limit. I was limited to pre-1489. The year. And I mentioned things that happened in 1506. I won't lose marks but I don't gain marks either.
In other news: Bath - have I said how much I love you? Because this avvie rocks. And I love it to pieces.

Re: Bushranger's Bodaciously Buffed Random Banter-y Rooster #93
As long as the events in 1506 were at least a bit related to the topic, that's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it may help demonstrate your extensive knowledge on the subject. Anyway, markers are usually nicer on exams.
I think I've had 2 worst exams. One of them, for my particularly harshly marking Irish history lecturer, he told me what I got for it (normally you don't find out). The exam consisted of 3 essays, and I got something like a Credit, a Pass and a Fail. In the assignments of that class I got two ridiculously high High Distinctions, but because of the exam, instead of getting an easy High Distinction overall I got a terribly disappointing Distinction.
My other one was Chemistry. I spent AGES struggling on the first half, and didn't even make it to the second half, where all the questions on topics I actually knew were Still passed, at least.
I was talking to someone on ootschat about the marking system at my uni - Fail, Pass, Credit, Distinction, High Distinction - and we sort of thought it was a bit like E, D, C, B, A. I thought about it later and changed my mind. ABCDE is kinda "Good, Okay, Not So Good, Bad, Awful", whereas HD D C P F is more "Fantastic, Excellent, Good, Okay, Bad". So I guess F P C D HD is more like D B A A+ A++.

hmmmm..i have yet to read any of the Discworld book when Susan appears...i have found Soucerer to be a little dull...
so far, Light Fantastic is on my first place, it may not have been the best work, but it cracked me up. Second place goes for Mort, and 3rd for Equal Rites, pretty imaginative, but i felt a lot of stuff was missed and /or rushed during the last part.

Aaaah... GIMP. Bad. Aaaah... .png (what you exported) supports partial transparency, depending on the program you use to view it (read: it has a black(?) background in Internet Explorer and a transparent in FireFox). The GIMP .gif is terrible... I don't think it manages to support all the colors, so the quality is not what a normal .gif is.Last edited by Ego Slayer; 2008-01-16 at 01:10 AM.

I can't really get past 2 or 3 without wimping out. I once did stay up 24 hours though, 9pm to 9pm. I'll admit to maybe dozing off once or twice though.
The 9pm to 9pm was on Pascha. If you know what that is, cool.
