Auditor one: Correct. However, we need to point at someone before we leave.
Auditor two: Let's go with the second most pointed at person. Perhaps they will see the error of their ways and change their votes to him, squeezing a narrow victory for us.
Auditor four creates a rope with a hangman's knot in it around Dr. Bath's neck. With the deed done, the Auditors retreat from the scene and continue to monitor things from afar by creating a 150" HD TV.

The Ankh-Morpork lynch mob! What a beautiful sight. They gather around, a mad glance at the invading silver horde they, first slowly, than faster and faster move on to… to what? Some cloaked nebulous figures you can hardly see? The people in the first row get confused.
You hear screams. “Where are we heading to?” “Don’t push!” “Have you seen the lynch victim? I only see fog in front of us!” “Wanna buy some sausage ina bun?”

Suddenly the fog vanishes. The auditors went to an other place where they can watch the ongoings in this city. What’s left behind, where the fog was, is a small man with glasses. On his jacket he has a badge which identify him as the secretary of the musician guild.

“That’s the guy! He didn’t let me play the guitar! His Trolls broke my fingers!”

“No, no. That wasn’t me! It was my predecessor!”

But the crowd doesn’t hear anymore. They push forward and lynch the poor Secretary.

Ominous was lynched. He began the game as villager but became the heir of Mr. Clete, the secretary of the musicians guild and member of the MCSC.

Somewhere in the crowd a man stumble and falls. But no one notices, he’s trampled to dead, too.

Auditor one: Look at the chaos. They came to lynch us, but ended up killing some musician.
Auditor two: Well, since attempting to get involved again would break the rules and could result in us being introduced to chocolate, we will have to watch from here.
Auditor four: Look on the bright side, at least they're still set on killing one another.

“Not the Ankh-Morporh river – it doesn’t go anywhere except up in flames every spring.”

“Can you see a mountain without actually being on the mountain?”

“Yes, I got that part.”

“Well, we can see the river of time – or the trousers if you will – from here but not actually be in them.”

“But why are we aging then if we’re not in the trousers of time at the moment?”

“Well, that’s a little more complicated, but let’s say you could see the river from the roof of your house.”

“Bleeach – if you can see the river, then you can smell it! If you’re in sight, all the senses are under assault at that point!”

“Exactly. Say you can see the river, but are not actually in it – can you still be wet? Say someone drops a bucket of water on you?”

“Sure.”

“Well, someone dropped a small bucket of time on us here, and now we’re almost dry. The city must resolve itself before we run out of time, or we will have ceased to exist.”

The arrest was swift. The suspect knew the time was up and did not hide nor even fight when Captain Carrot and Sergeant Angua arrived for his arrest. After repeated conversations with Mr. Slant, the suspect was defended in court.

And still hung. Dr. Bath was lynched. Dr. Bath was Ymper Trymon (Wolf - Devil). The charges were unusual though. It’s not often that someone, much less a wizard is tried in court for attempting to sunder reality in an attempt to dominate existence. Most madmen would, of course be carted to at the very least an asylum, but a wizard – a wizard is no ordinary man. For his sentence, Ymper Trymon was sentenced to walk through a door to the Dungeon Dimensions.
