    Default What Template?

OK, I am thinking of exposing PCs to a monster that infects (Lycanthrope, whatever) and see if any of them get the condition transmitted.

Looking for suggestions for a nifty such beast, not the usual, preferably with either a way to reverse it (needn't be easy, it's ~5th level group) or low LA, or both.

Underdark campaign, so flavor that fits a definite plus.

    Thanks!

    Hm. Werespiders. Werebadgers.
Come up with any quest-cure you think will work. Big vat of moonshine to bathe in?
Mystic underground waterfall to drink from?

My first thought is emanotothrope(sp?), but that's just a vermin lycanthrope... Raggamoffyn(again, sp?)? It's a creepy construct that takes over living beings... You could take slimy doom a bit out of context, and slowly turn a PC into a black pudding.

Is there actually a Werespider somewhere, and if so, what book is it in?

    Much appreciated.

The Entomanthrope template is here on the Wizards site and gives all the rules for making a were-vermin. The monstrous spider is here, so you just have to put the two together and have a were-spider, perfect for adventures in the Underdark.
