Edit: I would like to retract my previous statement. Apparently I just don't find that chimp funny.

Yeah, we do. Two cats.
Fortunately the hot water heater appears to be working still, so I'll get a hot shower soon...

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Guess who has sexy new glasses.
Oh yeah, that's right. Johnny Depp.
I also got new glasses too.
They're so different to my old pair, it feels like I've pens behind my ears.
I find this insanely weird, yet awesome at the same time.
When will there be a new Harry Potter movie so I can fall in love all over again with the lucious Luna Lovegood?
Super Bowl Adverts are weird. They're the kinda thing that would never be on TV normally, and yet should be 'cos most are a hundred times better.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
At least you have warm blooded animals. Reptile people have generators. Losing heat is tied with a fire as our biggest nightmare and fear. Slightly ironic, those two.
I'm glad you will be getting the place warmed up soon. I mean... that the heat is coming back. I mean... that the gas company guy is going to come and make a visit. There. That one is a bit too far of a stretch.

Ahh...the heat returns! The guy replaced some parts and it's pumping warm air out again!!!
@ North...yeah yeah, well, I have to say at least we are not still up in Grand Forks, ND...we got temps like that there. I still find it difficult to say that the winter here isn't that bad compartively... It makes my southern soul scream...my husband says I'm aclimated.

I would love to live in the south. Mmmm....tanning weather all year round!
Last night I was hanging out with a bunch of friends and "The Day After Tomorrow' and we all figured that if it ever happened. Most Canadians probably wouldnt notice the difference.
And Yay heat working! The fave part of having an apartment is included heat and water. So I keep the place nice n toasty all the time.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
First, lets clear one thing. I'm not religious. Oh sure, I was bapthised Christian, but with all the evil going around in the world I don't really believe in God as it is presented. No God could allow for all the evil that's going on and do nothing about it. Perhaps that's why I much rather worship fictional DnD deities. They make more sense. Anyway, on with the point.
My mother is having operation in... oh about ten hours. They found a spinal cord tumor. While it's benign, screwing an operation means she will be paraplegiac from a waist down. While I have a faith in doctors(they are experts and they have good equipment), the possibility of her being paraphlegiac for the rest of her life scares me. More than I'm willing to admit, even to myself.
I was always the "strong one" in our family. The one that never shows emotions. The one that is always there for the others. At least that's what I'd like to think. However, I can't take this alone. I'm just drunk enought(explanation later) to post this.
I'd ask anyone that is religious to say a prayer tonight. Not for me, I don't deserve it anyway. Say it for my mom. If it will help the doctors tommorow to perform the operation succesfuly.. than I will be happy.
Normally, I'd never post this. However, I'm drunk enought by now to post it anyway. I drink because that's the only way I'll be able to take some sleep tonight. Selfish? Most certainly. Wrong? Don't ask it. But I still did it. In fact, it's pretty much a miracle I can still type as well as I do(I think). Still, if you do this and it has some impact on the result... I'll be forever grateful.
I post this in RB because I don't want to make a special thread just for it. And I post here because I think most of the people are mature enought that they won't make stupid jokes. Yes, I know people who would do that.
I've pretty much lost track of what I wanted to say. I'd just ask anybody that is willing to do this to say something. A prayer, a curse.. anything. If it will help you have my undying gratitude. At the same time, I appologize for grammar mistakes I made. I'm not quite myself at the moment.Adrie, half elven bard. Drawing by Vulion, avatar by CheesePirate. Colored version by Callos_DeTerran. I don't pray but my thought's are with you and your mother.
Don't know much what I could say more, just don't drink too much, you should be able to visit your mother after the operation. (And I think in this situation I would need a large amount of alcohol to sleep, too).Avatar by the great Lord Herman. Many, many thanks!

So, anyone have plans for the Super Bowl? I'm going to go to the park, (Snow + Super Bowl = I'll have the whole place to myself) or maybe phone some friends to do other non-football related things.

To Mordokai
While I share many of your views, your mother has my thoughts and hopes tonight.
As for the drinking, as long as you are being safe, not driving and not overdoing it, I don't feel there is nothing wrong with it. Like others have said, if I was in the same boat I would be having a drink or two as well.

Aw hell Mordokai. What can anyone say in a situation like this?
Here's wishing you and your family (especially your mother) all the best. Here's to hoping that she'll make a full recovery and that she'll be running around after your kids years from now.
We'll see you (hopefully with good news) in a few days.
