    Giving a thankful nod to Franklin as about half of his wounds close up, still nursing his wounds.

    Due to his condition, he's not his usual trouncey self. Not used to such vicious wounds, he doesn't want to risk reopening them. Once they reach the town, though, he seems to be a bit revitalized, perhaps reassured by the safety of the town walls. As they approach the inn, Yuri sort of drifts away from the group.

    "I think a traipse is in order,

    I'll come straight away."


    Drawing a sickle, he casually twirls it around his index finger, whistling to himself as he strolls casually along the streets, despite the hour.

Very secret stuff. He said we couldn't peek in the crates." and the knight gives an overly dramatic mouth agape wink.

    You bring the cart around and park it near the rear of the store. After some heavy lifting and dragging you manage to get the crates into the back room without too much trouble.     The gnome sleepily looks at Ryesean, "Where is Buffle City? I do not know a Alimard. The only arrangement I have is with Amier from kutur and he usually does not want fox pelts but rather winter lion pelts. Well you can take 10 fox pelts down to him, they are a silver a piece. I do not have any winter lion pelts through."

    The gnome looks annoyed with the continued questioning this late at night. "*mumble mumble*so tired*mumble mumble* Ah, well there havn't been any for months. I have not seen the hunters since the last storm came rolling in. There is a cabin to the north about a 3 day journey, not one that you could bring a cart, they use it as a base camp for their hunting. If you are looking for pelt there is where you would want to inquire. That is all I know. As for me it is bed time. Come tomorrow if you want to purchase some goods." With that the Gnome slams and bars the door.

    I am assuming you will rest and do other things first, but you can go north to find the cabin or you can just return to Kutur and tell Amier that there was no pelts, or you can do something completely different. Do not feel that you must travel north to the cabin, it is just one option of many.

    Ryesean looks at the barred door and tilts his head quizzically. He then turns to the group and shrugs. Making his way over to the cart, he extracts the small barrel of wine. With some significant effort he finally extracts the plug. Rummaging through they groups cooking gear he grabs 4 of the wooden cups, ad fills them. Wincing in pain he holds his ribs as hops onto the cart. Sitting upon the cart with his legs dangling off the back he raises his cup o wine to the group and in a tone of subdued disappointment exclaims "To success?!"

    The cavalier gazes for a long moment into his cup, and then throws it back, letting its warmth sit in the back of his throat. "Well friends... it seems we are at a cross roads. Aimer has asked for Winter lion pelts, and we have none. We can return, collect our 50 gold and be done with it. We can travel north, and see if these hunters have any to barter for. Of this, of course, there is no guarantee." Filling his cup once again, the cavalier glances back into the cart upon the sleeping would be squire. "I'll be the first to admit our first foray into battle was less than inspired. I may not be the most observant, nor the most seasoned warrior, but that chance encounter... The orcs should have bolted. And i know, master franklin, that you disapprove of my use of Temperance in that battle. You think i threw away her life. You should know that that mare has... had seen more battle, and faced down stronger more numerable foes on her own than i can recount. She was a far more skilled warrior than i, and had i ordered her from the battle... i do not believe she would have complied. Could i trade places with her, i would without hesitation." The cavalier folds his hands infront of his face, bows his head slightly and swallows hard. Taking another gulp of wine, he scans the group once again. "...i just. I keep replaying that battle over and over in my mind. The discipline thos orcs showed. Even in the face of death, maintaining the presence of mind to fire bomb the wagon. To not loose their nerve and take all those lives. I have never seen or heard of it's like. I've known veteran warriors who've lost their nerve in comperable circumstances." Ryesean sighs deep, and drains his remaining wine.

    "Whelp... we can continue on together or we can part ways. I have additioal buisess i need to attend to in the morning, but i would hope that shouldnt take more than a few hours. I've promised to take the boy under my wing, but im not sure thats for the best. There's the matter of the Gypsy crates. The law of salvage is on our side, and as a squire the boy owns nothig of his own. I dont beleive that is the most honorable act, but they would be ours by right as are the mules. So what say you?"

    After such a long day of traveling you decide to forgo the decision of what to do until after at least a nights sleep and maybe a day or two of rest. You find the Inn to be warm and comfy even through it lacks much compared to the Inns of Kutur. For the first time in over week you have a warm bed and within moments you are fast asleep.

    You wake in the morning and you get the feeling that some have things to do and others do not.

    What are peoples plans for this day?

    Patting the young knight's shoulder, he takes a deep swig of the glass he presumes is his, licking his lips of the refreshment.

    Waltzing off to the inn, he turns in for the night, deciding to get an early rest to ease his wounds.

    Come the morning, having missed the earlier conversations, he casually inquires as to the group's next move.

    Okay, reread the intro and it sounded like we should have gotten pelts in exchange for the crates. As I am currently studying for the business law part of CPA exam, I say the group has upheld their part of a contract and the gnome here needs to complete the contract or be in breach of contract and may be liable for damages. Because the gnome does not have pelts available to comeplete the contract, Franklin would be willing to accept cash damages in the amount of the fair market value of the pelts plus any additional cost of acquiring them that the group may incur as liquidating damages.

    After poking around in the tavern and listening to a few stories you hear of a hunters lodge 70 miles to the north (about a four day journey). No one has seen the hunters since before the last storm over a month now. However, there is no reason to be concerned because the hunters often will spend months cooped up on their lodge hunting northern lions.

    There is a trail north to the lodge that is fairly easy to find. The trail is not fit for a wagon to travel up and can be dangerous.

    Northern Lions are dangerous and claim the lives of many travelers who are unprepared. The men who hunt these lions are often the roughest men and many do not return but are lost to both the harsh winters and the dangerous lions.

The first three days pass quickly, the only company you see are the fearful deer that run at the first sight of you. You cannot get close to even get a decent shot off if you tried to hunt them. On the fourth day, the stark black-and-white of the wintry forest is broken by a splash of color in the landscape toward the left. A man’s body sits upright but slumped against a tree. Around him, the snow is stained a brilliant red.

    The dead man by the tree is certainly dead. He appears to have died from blood loss from a deep bite mark on his right shoulder. There was a bandage covering the bite mark but it appears that the bandage was ripped off opening the wound. Frozen blood stains the mans cheeks, the origin seems to have come from the man's ears. A bloody dagger lies next to the man.

    As Seth examines the body more closely, he notices that the dagger must have been used to pierce the ears but it is most likely that the individual bled to death from reopening the bite mark on his shoulder. Franklin has a hard time telling what created the wound, the flesh seems to have been torn by jagged teeth making the wound very hard to heal.

    As franklin gets ready for olin to start tracking, he sees the man's trail of foot prints right there in the snow. It appears that the man was traveling in the opposite direction you are now heading. There is only one set of footprints, the man's. You realize that by continuing on the trail you will converge on the dead man's tracks in 100 feet.
