Ok, it would appear that there are many people on the boards whose Greek Knowledge-fu is far stronger then mine. I mean, I knew the thing about grey eyes, but... I forgot.
To be honest, the reason purple works better then grey anyways is that... well, quite frankly, it looks cooler.
And now, for something completely different:
Announcement Time!
As of now, I am putting in a 1 comic/week schedule. Well, technically I had that before, but this time I'm sticking to it!
In about a month (a little less, actually) I will be going on hiatus and will need seven guest comics (1/week I'm gone). I think Phase has dibs on one of them, but if anyone else would like to do one, please PM me.
That's it!Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase

Fan Mail done by the Gods!
Beholder1995 in Vermont asks:
Does Zeus ever feel bad for chopping his dad up into tiny bits?
or:
What thoughts does Hades have about the ways he is often grossly stereotyped?
or even:
Has Ares ever considered Anger Management classes?
And let's not even get into all the questions akable about the Gods' erm.... 'relations' with each other.

Depending on how much time I have between college, Remember, and a second webcomic project I'm working on, I could probably put something together.

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Sorry this is late. I've had it done for a while, but… I forgotted to post it.
But here it is!
Comic 13 should be out on time – namely, in a week, which is my last day of school. I hope to start building up a buffer over the couple of weeks I have before I go on hiatus, and maybe I can even have Phase post a few while I'm gone. What do you all think? Should I leave some comics for you over my vacation, or should I let the guest comics take over?

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Hooray, new Silliad!
I'm on the side of the comics during vacation thing, but guest comics could be pretty funny too. You could do every other one is a guest comic and that way you can save half of your buffer for whenever.
Glad to see this comic is back."Quiet tales of hamsters are foolish, but a man and his hamster that tear evil limb from limb? That's scary!" - Minsc

What a pleasant surprise, three new strips for me. Uncle Festy delivers stick figure poetry like Homer.

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
It would seem that the birds spell out "You must return Briseis." Why, then, does Kalchas tell Aggamemnon to return Chriseis?
Nice, though. I like how Aggamemnon's character is developing. Heh.

Not bad, I like this. Loved the last comic, especially the last panel.

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
*viciously stabs writer's block*
Ok, so I finally got the script, but now I need to actually… draw… it… out…
*sigh*
Assuming all goes well, I should have the comic up by tomorrow. Unfortunately, since I'm gone Mon-Wed, I'll probably have to work for more time then I have tomorrow to get comic #14 out on time, and if writer's block/laziness strikes again… well, there goes my summer buffer.
Now? Now is sleep time, probably. I might try and get some work on the comic done first, though.Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Ok. Me not having the comic by now has nothing to do with writer's block. That was 100% laziness. The Silliad will return with comic #13 on the 25th.
The following paragraph has also been added to the 1st post.
Since I am going to be away from July 1st to August 13th, I need about seven guestcomics. I might be able to add a comic or two that I would make in advance, but we'll have to see how that goes. Anyways, if you are interested in making a guestcomic, please send your application (basically stating interest, and explaining the basic comic idea in case we're flooded with applications and need to choose – not likely, but possible ) to both Phase and I by PM.
Kay. See you all later.

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Would you count this as fanart, despite the fact that it's a charicature of my comic's characters? This thread seems to be a repository for all things ancient-themed.

*sigh*
So, I finally finished #13…
And now Photobucket is being a poopyhead and crashing Safari every time I try to upload it.
I'll try again tomorrow.
Sorry, guys.Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
I use tinypic. It never shinks an image but it does make the image blurry if it's too big. It would have to be pretty damn big, though.

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Yeah, more comp troubles.
If it's not another harddrive crash, then I'll fix it this afternoon and get the comic uploaded then.
If it is... then I break something. And will not actually have the comic for another month and a half, because I'm leaving soon and won't be able to make it again.
Grr.
...
I just checked. I'm pretty sure it's another crash.
And with no backups of the comic, I'm pretty much done.
Hate.
My.
Laptop.

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Yeah, Macs suck. We made that mistake once, and never made it again. The "User friendly computer" is really a self-terminating high security piece of @%$&. It can't even run freaking .exe files.... We also got x11 to try to be able to do SOME things on it, and the mac self terminated it, but didn't terminate the fact that the file was on the computer, so whenever we try to run something that uses x11, a message appears saying we don't have it. When we go to download it again, it says we already have it... It's horrible. It's so unintuitive, too. I've hardly ever had to call microsoft reporting an error... With Macs, I want to call every week to complain....

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Yep, I did. Both look good as guestcomics. Phase has both, and he can post them.
Unless you want one to just be fanart, in which case you should post it in the thread.
Oh, did I mention? From this point on, I am backing all my comic stuff up on a daily basis. This is the second time I'm going to have lost stuff from a harddrive crash, and I never want it to happen again.
Once I get my stuff back from my backup, I'll see how much of #13 I still have. If it's not much, and I have some time before the end of the month, I'll try and get it out.
Bleh.
Oh yeah. I only have one (or two) guest comic applications. Do we have any other takers? Anyone? Please?Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
I may if I have time and ideas. If I do make one, should I do it in OOTS style or my own very agonizing (And by that, I mean they take a very long time to make) style?

Re: The Silliad [Comic]
Ok, quick update.
Harddrive isn't totally gone, but it's inaccessable. Getting that fixed on monday-ish. Comic comes then too - I hope.
Have fun doing the comic any way you well please.Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase
