Happy Easter (or Spring-related festival of your choice)
Yesterday was, according to the traditional Chinese calendar, the first day of spring. In my husband's hometown this event is celebrated by eating carrots. He was unable to give any reason for this tradition, so I'll never know why.
It's raining heavily here, and a bitter cold wind is blowing. Hope the weather is better wherever you are.

Not doing anything much for [MISCELLANEOUS SPRING HOLIDAY] this year. Feeling too low energy. I can't even think up how to claim this holiday in the name of Hoboshu yet. One of the few benefits of being the sole worshipper of your god: less divine smiting. I can be lazy until a few more convert...

If it's Easter, then Spring Break can't be too far behind!

I don't know if my family is doing anything easter related, but I love spring. The weather is so mild and it doesn't get dark at friggin' 5 o' clock.

Re: Happy Easter (or Spring-related festival of your choice)
It's a white easter! Woke up to snow this morning.
And yet I don't think I've ever seen a white Christmas.
It's like that time I was at Uni and the Spannish girl was all excited about seeing snow for the first time so she rang her parents only to discover that they had had more snow in Spain that day than here.

White Easter here, too. The day before yesterday, about one foot of snow fell during a single night.

We've also got a white Easter. Complete with bunny tracks in the snow. My son was thrilled to see those!

Yeah, there's a TON of bunnies around here, so the snow made it perfect to see the tracks across the driveway and walk

White Easter here too. We were walking home through York at 4 in the morning in the snow. Beautiful, apart from the random drunks asking for our umbrellas and spoiling the otherwise unspoilt snow

Re: Happy Easter (or Spring-related festival of your choice)
No snow here.
No bunnies either, just satanic squirrels.
Almost everyone here went home for Easter, so we have the dorm pretty much to ourselves. However, that means I have to deal with whatever the dining hall serves us for "Easter dinner." Hopefully brunch will still be good.

Re: Happy Easter (or Spring-related festival of your choice)
i've never even seen snow :(
It was 28 degrees here today (that's about 82F i think..) with 84% humidity and a few showers around lunch time... I want it to either start raining properly, or for autumn weather to start already!
My family doesn't celebrate any of the christian celebrations, but my mum LOVES hot cross buns and chocolate in the shape of eggs, bunnies and bilbies ( and buying them and giving them to her kids), so it's a pretty tasty time of the year for us.
So happy easter, passover, celebration of the goddess Eostre, Spring/Autumn Equinox... or any other celebration i've forgotten the mention... or just good eating :)"If I were going to die I would have by now."

Re: Happy Easter (or Spring-related festival of your choice)
Before Easter I found a small stash of easter eggs behind the sofa which was unexpected, and so I thought, "Uh oh, if Mum has bought those for us and I don't give anything in return my mum's boyfriend will not be happy. There'll be toys thrown out of the pram!"
So I went out and bought the family easter eggs, with the exception of my mum's boyfriend as he doesn't ever eat anything anyway. And my one of my brothers ought my mum some posh nutty popcorn instead of something easter related.
Then yesterday arrived, white easter, I found out in the evening that it was my mum's boyfriend who had bought us easter eggs. And he was the only person that went without. D'oh, but last year he said he hated easter.
