K well. Fast forward. 2 minutes later, Maestro, you already arrived and are positioned on the wall with the other archers. Or you can be somewhere else if you want too.

The gate shudders as the undead use a battering ram to bring it down. They pull back, and let it go again. The creaks. Over and over the do it again. Archers are uneefective against it, as the battering ram protects the undead who are below it. The gate splinters.

You can ready an action if you want.

CRASH! The gate is down. Undead start pouring into the city. Many of the archers flee backwards to find better positions to shoot the undead from. Footmen from the South gate are arriving in groups from 1-20.

What do each of you do.

And before we forget. The catapualts luanch their load at you before the undead enter.

Meastro and Mammon, the load crashes near you, but far enough away not to hurt you. But it was close. A few more feet and they would have hit you. Lucky.

    Maestro

As soon as it becomes clear that the gate is going to fall, Maestro takes up any leftover arrows from fallen archers near him, and bolts down the steps to street level. He seeks a position where he can arch his shots into the advancing undead, without letting them get within 100' of him.

I'm assuming there are a bunch of random soldiers are there, too. So I won't be charging a horde of undead all by myself.

EDIT: That damage should have been 1d8+2, but since I missed it shouldn't matter.

Mammon: Yes. There are hundreds of soldiers with you, trying to keep the undead at bay from entering too far within the city.

    Kellen

Kellen watches as his arrow, hanging almost motionless in the air, heads into the massive swarm of undead waiting to be destroyed. Time ticks by and yet still his arrow has yet to make into the swarm. Kellen glances upward wishing time could speed up, for a moment at least, so as to know the outcome of his shot.

    Maestro

Grabbing a shield from a fallen soldier, Maestro tosses it onto the top of a stairwell, hops on and shoots an absurd number of zombies on the way down. At the bottom of the stairs, the shield leaps up into the throat of yet another zombie.

Hmm. I wonder if there are any zombie oliphaunts around.
