Re: Raiders of Oakhurst, Group 1
((It's been a week; sorry Suzuro))
Riardon's arrow veers off-target and strikes only rock! But Skamos's magic missile hits the remaining archer square in the chest! (Not his second one, though.)
Corrin strikes at Meepo with the flat of his blade; it knocks the kobold to the ground, but does not knock him out. "Nyaa!" Meepo squeals. "Hobgoblins over there, halfling! Why attack Meepo, who is helping with quest?"
Tira becomes as shadow, then blasts the unsuspecting archer! Erias fires two divine bolts at the lieutenant, causing him to roar in pain!
The hobgoblin archer is confused.Spoiler"What now, sir?"
The lieutenant angrily replies,Spoiler"Get your god-blasted sword and HELP ME OUT!"
The archer draws a longsword and rushes to aid the other. He takes no more than two steps, however, before the shadow-melded Tira stabs him!
((1d20+5)[18] (included is concealment bonus) for (1d4)[3])
He flanks Kathra, and the lieutenant swings his flail and brings it down on the dwarf! ((1d20+9)[14], for (1d10+4)[8]) It glances off her armor!

Re: Raiders of Oakhurst, Group 1
Skamos points his finger at the hobgoblin, and fires a glowing dart of force! Kathra swings her axe in a wide arc and, with the grace of Amaunator, manages to decapitate the archer, though the soldier blocks her swing. However, Tira manages blast him into the wall with her dark powers.
The soldier gurgles, and dies.SpoilerYou, you dirty backstabbing kobolds... you and yer big stupid spoiled drag-ugh...

Re: Raiders of Oakhurst, Group 1
Skamos struggles for breath for a while. Alright kobold, stop pretending that you're dead and get up. If you surrender, you'll live. Also, Corrin, kindly explain why are you hitting Meepo? He helped us ambush the hobgoblins.

((Intimidation could be used in skill challenges. Which reminds me, it is a skill challenge to interrogate or whatever. Just announce it, and I'll start the skill challenge.
FYI: Skill challenges work by, well, using your skills. Each challenge has a target number of successes and a maximum number of failures. You can use any skill as long as you justify how it is going to be relevant and useful to the current situation. You can try for Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulties (failing an Easy check gets you a -2 on the next check, while succeeding on a Hard check gets you a +2 on th next check).))sorry to:

Re: Raiders of Oakhurst, Group 1
Yeah, I don't know, I think it's pretty dead. Eh, I count it as a semi-success?
Stuff:
SpoilerIf you want to know, you fought 2 out of 4 possible encounters (you didn't fight the kobold king and the dragon).
So, yeah. I think PbP is pretty bad for 4e. For one thing, 4e's designed so that the rounds will take less time, but there'd be more rounds. Which is kind of negated by PbP's time difference. Another thing, it's more difficult to discuss tactics and stuff (one thing that my group did the whole time). 4e's also got lots of tiny bonuses, which are hard to remember (I should be blamed for one of them, probably).
Observations: You guys rolled pretty well, actually. Barely took any damage (I mean, I countone healtwo heals in the whole thing compared to a second wind per character per encounter, when I ran it) and laid some serious damage.Last edited by Abardam; 2008-05-11 at 10:19 PM. Reason: whoops, Erias also healed himself that makes two heals

WOOOOO! That heal was mine!
Anyways, thanks for the chance, it really helped my perspective of 4e.

Re: Raiders of Oakhurst, Group 1
Yeah, that was fun. 4ed doesn't seem bad when you give it a try. Also, I don't think it's so much 4ed's not working for PbP, more like adventures consisting primarily of combat not working there. And I honestly don't know how would skill challenges work on the forum.
