Hey, new reader here.
Your comic is definitely in a different category than the other oots-style webcomic, and that's a good thing :P
Sometimes, I feel that a (punch)line come straight out of oots ("why did magic missile take a whole page?") but apart from that it definitely has a very unique story to it with interesting characters.

And... Your non-symmetrical characters don't look the same from both sides! Even the Giant often doesn't bother with things like that.

Also, the cast page looks amazing. I'm jealous. I want to learn how to make a cast page like that.

In short, I really like it. I do think that in a way, it's too bad it's oots-style. It's a bit hard to get in the mindset of it being its own comic rather than a copy/spinoff thingie. Obviously, it's not going to change, so saying that is useless, but I think being inspired by the style would have been better than using the same style, you know what I mean?

Anyway, the story is interesting, and so are the characters.

Just some Javascript... it took me longer to think of how to do it than to actually write the code to carry it out. Good luck learning from the source code, though, because I have the nasty habit of not commenting because I (apparently) like to make myself die a little each time I try to add something new... not to mention I had to make some things organized weirdly to appease IE.

Just some simple layer effects. A fill opacity of zero and a black outer glow. Of course, this is in Photoshop, not Adobe Illustrator, since making the same effect in Illustrator could be... a bit more difficult, to say the least.
