    Adelard
As the monster grabs Horek, Adelard has a moment to wonder what the hell that thing is before he begins his response. He seems to focus on the blob, and he apears to be attempoting to ward his allies with the glaive at the expense of his own safety. As his allies move closer to the creature, so does Adelard, and brings his weapon down on the creature in a powerful attack.

    Hortek

Hortek curses, wondering how the monster was able to spot him when he was sneaking around. I need to do a better job of sticking to the shadows, apparently.

OOC: Both of Hortek's attack rolls should have been at +9. I'm not sure what I was thinking. I'm clearly not fully awake yet.

Using the rolls in the previous post, that makes his attack rolls:
    15 for the Fire Riposte
    24 for the Unarmed Strike.

Without a thought, Moran draws his bow up to his face. His eyes flash golden as his feet shift to a wide, balanced stance, steadying even the most minor of quakes in his body.
I am the Falling Star, piercing the night with a single, powerful shot...The mantras of his father's teachings flood his mind, and as he releases the shot it seems to follow his will, flying at the creature with unerring accuracy, even twisting at the last moment to avoid a flailing psudopod.
And with the purity of day-in-the-darkness, I strike...He whispers the last bit of the mantra, enjoying hearing the words whisper across his lips as the shot strikes at his enemy, trying to pierce any natural defenses..
    I miss you father.

The shadow moves through the wall to attack Adelard, but not before one of Moran's phantom arrows tears a piece out of it. Its icy touch weakens Adelard, draining his strength [5 str damage], and then Adelard's powerful blow dissipates its form.

*note: Moran could only move 10ft and still get a clear shot. Also, in the future, miss chance is always a miss if your roll is less than or equal to the miss chance (the same holds for any other percentile roll, for that matter).

Years of running from Imperials will train anyone to be a killer. That, with the training of my father, has made me a force to be reckoned with.
Moran looks around the room, hoping to recall something he may have missed earlier.
And I'm sure all of you are just as effective with your chosen weapons.

Searching the room, you find 15 gold coins in a pouch hidden under the bed, and a gold ring on the dead woman that looks to be worth about 20 gold.

You remember that the ancient Merithians would bury their dead with the setting of the sun, placing a gold coin over each eye to pay the toll into the next world.

With your combined knowledge of the healing arts and spellcraft, you are able to determine that this woman was most likely killed with death magic of some kind, most likely involving a verbal component, given the clutching of the ears. Also, this woman appears to have only been dead for a few minutes, but the style she is wearing hasn't been worn since the days of the Merithian empire. Also, from what you have heard about the undead, there should not be a ghost so quickly after death. You also find a star ruby that looks to be worth 200 gold hidden beneath a crack in the floor underneath the trunk.

No other checks I called for have been passed.

    Ali'Anspar

Looking at the dead womans body, Ali turned to the others saying "Merithians would bury their dead at sunset with a coin over each eye to bribe there way into the after life. Its possibly that having not been given these rights has kept her here."
Moving to look around the rest of the room he spoke over his shoulder "I'm sure she deserves that much atleast, and it will give us something to do"

I seem to forget to mention this every time. It is mid-afternoon, so sunset is 2-3 hours from now.

Take two of the gold from this room and do it. Chances are they were hers anyway, and while I have no qualms about looting this place, respect for the dead is something I will not breach.

Go ahead and specify if you are going to bury the body now or not. I am going to go ahead and advance to the next couple rooms, assuming you proceed back to the mansion afterwards if you do bury her.

    Narrator:
A straw mattress in one corner dominates this room, with a wooden trunk nearby. A clay pitcher and water basin rest on a table here as well. The trunk lies open, and the clothes are scattered about, as if someone had hastily grabbed what they could and fled.
This room has nothing in it. I am going to assume you proceed to the next.

    Narrator:
A scorched straw mattress in one corner dominates this room, with a wooden trunk nearby. The shattered remains of a clay pitcher lie broken on the floor, next to a charred corpse. A ghostly image of a man in a toga, wreathed in flames, rises up from the body as you enter the room, and moves towards you angrily.

-I can't get to either of your sheets. You both use coyotecode, so it may be that they are having a case of the galloping harumphs. Ali'Anspar might be going before the ghost, if his initiative modifier is 5 or higher.

I will shortly be posting a map. Apparently the map is on the fritz, so the map will have to wait. You are still in the 10' wide corridor, with a 5' wide door into a (IIRC)10x15 room with ghost in it.

"Well there is still a few hours left till sunset, lets leave the funeral to then like her people would have" Ali said before moving out towards the next room.

Seeing yet another ghost, the flames dropped from around Alis body replaced by shadow as he swung his fist around with enough force to snap bones.
