Re: Overpowered Game
OOC: You can draw a weapon as a part of a move action so you get to move full 60'. Also, Don will flank*.
*I know I can't tell stuff like that to Glenn, but Glenn is a Rogue and has a high Intelligence, so he should be able to figure it out for himself.Last edited by Eldariel; 2008-06-14 at 03:53 PM.

Re: Overpowered Game
SpoilerRight.
@Eric: Don't forget "If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move." (qtd. from d20srd) So you have another move action as well.
I can't make a map reasonably small enough to fit in one post and still contain your range. Eldariel is 190 ft. away from the creature.Last edited by rockdeworld; 2008-06-14 at 08:18 PM.

Re: Overpowered Game
Spoiler
Rock: Your interpretation of the way that Practiced Spellcaster and WildMage work was different than mine. Your interpretation makes the combination more effective, so I'll stick with that.
With that in mind, my result of 1 corresponds to the CL of 7, which was 20 damage, or 10 because he saved for half damage.
Hasad
Thas was close!
This thing has better reflexes than I supposed. Or perhaps it just got lucky. For now, I'll go with lucky.

Re: Overpowered Game
SpoilerOk. I have also officially modified Owen's character sheet (the only time, I promise) to pick up Sleet Storm and Stinking Cloud, at a loss of 750 gp in what would have been material components.
You messed up your CLs though - you have a CL of 4+1d6, not 6+1d6. Therefore a roll of 6 would grant you CL 10 - fortunately that's effectively the same as what you have listed.
Creature reflex save: 11 - fail
Another fireball engulfs the creature. When the smoke clears this time, the creature is singed, but still standing.
"The mage seems to be holding his own." Owen notes. "Nevertheless, that thing can throw rocks very far." So saying, he moves back as a full-round action, keeping with Ren and Glenn.
Having noted its inability to throw rocks accurately from such a distance, the creature moves in and picks up another rock, hurling it at Hasad.
SpoilerCreature attack roll: 22 - hit
Creature damage roll: 13
The three off-screen are now only 155 ft. away from the creature.
Ren's turn.

Re: Overpowered Game
Glenn
Looks like as good a chance as any. Glenn takes only a moment to aim, then fires a bolt from his crossbow. It zips through the air, moving towards the creature...
Spoiler-2 penalty to attack from one full range increment. It's just under two increments, so it works out well. I'm fairly sure Hasad is directly between Glenn and the creature, so if I need to get a better line of sight to avoid accidentally hitting Hasad, Glenn will move 30 feet to the right before attacking. Otherwise, he'll reload after attacking from his current position.

Re: Overpowered Game
Spoiler
I mis-read the spoiler tag last time, which is why I thought it was 6+1d6.
According to the FAQ, Practiced Spellcaster basically makes rolls of 1, 2, or 3 result in your "normal" caster level (for Hasad, 6), and 4, 5, and 6, increase it by 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
Although, actually, I'm fine with your interpretation. It keeps the flavor of the class in that it can still have bad results, but the results tend to be less bad.
Fire isn't working, let's try ice!

Re: Overpowered Game
SpoilerGlenn hits! for (1d8)[8] damage.
Go ahead and include damage rolls with attack rolls. We can ignore them if you miss, and it saves time (unless I roll) if you hit.
To recap, the creature has taken 54 damage.
Hasad's spell hits everything in front of him, covering it in billowing snow and obscuring everything from view - including the creature.
"Well, I can't see the thing now." Owen comments. "Would either of you two like some help, by which I of course mean magical enhancements?"
Owen readies an action to cast friendly magic on his allies if either Ren or Glenn requests it.
No one can see anything of the creature. Ren's turn.

Spoiler
Knowledge Arcana (1d20+9)[10]
What happened with the Sleet Storm? It has a long range, so aiming it shouldn't be a problem. What went weird with the spell?
When the spell misses, Hasad's face goes cross-eyed briefly.
I guess I'll stick with a time honored classic then!

OOC: Sorry about that. I mis-read the spell description of Sleet Storm and thought had a Cone area, rather than cylander.

Re: Overpowered Game
Glenn
Glenn lowers his crossbow, unable to see into the sudden sleet. He turns to Owen. "Well, if it'll help bring this creature down, I'm prepared to take any help you can offer."
SpoilerI'll be out of town for a week starting Friday evening. Rockdeworld, you are, of course, welcome to move Glenn along.

Re: Overpowered Game
OOC: Could someone PLEASE clarify what the heck is going on? Was my turn skipped or something - I see Hasad taking two turns in a row. Also, what's this grand plan with the Sleet Storm?

Re: Overpowered Game
SpoilerYour turn was essentially skipped, since everyone posted out of order. But I waited for you, so no skip.
Ice storm damage fix:
Bludgeoning: (3d6)[13]
Ice: (2d6)[6]
For the record, the creature has taken 73 damage total. If it's still alive.
Comments on Ice Storm: Y'know, at the level he's casting this at, it seems to be really good. No save 5d6 damage + Listen Penalty + Movement half speed. The only problem is that it lasts only 1 round.
"Actually," Owen says, turning to the Sleet storm, "It looks like our spell-happy friend up there has everything under control."
The creature cannot be seen. Ren's turn (again).
SpoilerWhat just happened: Ren did nothing, Glenn did nothing, Owen did nothing, Hasad cast Ice Storm.Last edited by rockdeworld; 2008-06-19 at 06:55 AM.

Re: Overpowered Game
SpoilerSleet Storm: Round 3/6
@Karaswanton: are you keeping track of your spells cast per day? So far you've cast 2 fireballs, 1 sleet storm and 1 ice storm.
There is nothing near for Hasad to hide in. No one can see anything inside the sleet storm, and nothing emerges from it.
Ren's turn.
