Daine points towards the door to the interior of the ship. "Lets just stick it in the fore cabin for now," he says as they move to the launcher. "No point in leaving it out here where someone might happen on it," he says. "Just take some leverage to life it through."

"We'll need you down here keeping an eye on people anyways, keeping that charming face of your covered and in armor so they don't get any ideas,"
he says with a slight chuckle, nodding towards Corran.

    Flick
Flick stalls for as long as possible before answering the comm system.
We are carrying minimal cargo so a cargo drop and reimbursement will not be necessary. However, we are coming from a long journey and will need updated star charts to make any hyperspace trips. Flick continues talking on the comm making Kera's slow approach seem more natural. Also have you made any provision for food for these refuges? We were hoping to purchase some on the surface.
Continuing to buy more time on the comm.
You mentioned that we would be reimbursed for our time. I'd like to get an idea what you think our time is worth. How much pay are we talking here?

An imperial officer appears on the view screen and says, "Do not concern yourself with food. It is taken care of. Everything on the surface is toxic. For the safety of your crew, do not purchase anything or attempt to load any cargo while on the surface." He motions to someone off screen and then says, "The hyperspace route is being transmitted. You will be reimbursed at government cargo rates."

I hear you about the food and goods from the planets surface. What exactly is the current governmental cargo rate? We more deal with private charter flights then cargo goods.

It isn't affecting our hyperspace engines, and our engineer is working on it already. Ah, should be fixed within the hour, not that it's any of their damn business, and no, we don't need any help with it. Minor problem. And if they ask what it is, tell them you're not the engineer."

Copy that. We are trying our best to comply. We are traveling as fast as we can as our conventional drive engines are experience partial failure. Our engineer assures me he is working on the issue and it would have no affect on hyperspace travel. We will proceed towards your coordinates to the best of our ability.

"Daine, can you make the engine have a minor problem that would make us have to go at a reduced speed, is theoretically fixable within about an hour, and wouldn't look like someone just ripped something out? In about 30 to 45 seconds?" She slows the ship down, and just to be snotty about it, takes her time doing so.

Kera doesn't answer Daine. Slipped into resisting them knee-jerk-like awfully easy. I s'pose it's partly because of Corran's bounty, and partly because of the weapons on board, and partly because we had that tussle with the Impies at that derelict. Still, I ought to have just done what he said. Called attention to us by being ornery. Dammit. She quits with the stalling and slows the ship so the docking can take place. At least if Daine is busy doing something to the engine, it might look like he's working on it to fix it, kinda. Sort of. Dammit.

She sure as heck wasn't going to admit that had been a mistake to Flick. "You should get down to the cargo bay and make with the chit-chat. The only stuff we have that I think they'll object to is the weapons, and they may or may not care about them. Corran's got a bounty on his head, so don't go out of your way to introduce him or anything."

Right not that I plan on going through special introductions for the crew. One minor suggest is that we let ourselves get caught for something minor. Not sure that we have that. But I'll see what I can do. What goods do we have on ship that I can pretend we thought we needed a permit for? Give me some cards and I'll bluff my ass off.

'Course, we're running close to nil on food, so maybe not." Kera thinks about this for a few more moments, then her mouth makes a little 'o' shape. "Uh, I do have an Impie blaster rifle. I don't really want to hand that over, though. If we have to give something up, I'd go with the torpedo launcher, personally. We can't afford to use it, anyway. It was salvaged, and I think that's pretty obvious, so maybe they'll just confiscate it and move along."

Corran and Trill get the torpedo launcher locked into one of the crew cabins. Daine comes up with a brilliant idea regarding the engines and is able to get the 'fault' working, he does, however, misinterpret the long term effects of this 'failure' on the engines.

Soon enough, several warning lights on the bridge start flashing as the injector fuel mix is inverted and power is diverted to the lateral thrusters and the hyperdrive coils are charged creating an unstable reaction in the ion drive. The nice happy engine sound is replaced with a decidedly unhappy engine sound. If you stand in just the right place on the lower deck it sounds like grinding gears on one of those massive walkers.

Over the next minute or so, the light cruisers close the distance. The light cruisers circle The Angry Mule doing a couple orbits while their scanners go to town. After 30 seconds or so, one moves in below to the docking rings and the other sends a message, "Muster all crew members to the docking port for inspection."

Moments later the ship rattles a slight bit when the docking collar engages.

With a heavy sigh, Kera leaves the controls and stops on the way down to call out to Daine, "They want everyone in the cargo bay." She repeats this for Corran, wherever he might be. As she clomps heavily down the steps, she unzips her flight suit and pulls it off her torso so it hangs off her hips, revealing a skimpy white tank top and the top edge of her dark purple lace underwear.

She she gets to the cargo bay, she crosses her arms and generally looks annoyed. It's not a stretch to conjure that facial expression and body language. "Corran, try to be unobtrusive. Don't use your real name. Open the door."

Looking over the rest of the crew Flick mind is flooded with thoughts.
Wow Kera wasn't kidding about possibly walking around topless glad she decided against it. I don't think these folks would have been easily seduced and it might have just caused more trouble. Why is Corran wearing a wood helmet that is just going to cause them to question him more? Sometimes the best way to blend in is to look as normal as possible. Daine looks like an engineer who has just been working on a stressful project which is fitting because I guess he has.

In a bold, brave move, the officer climbs up into the cargo bay first. He is soon followed by 4 stormtroopers. Two of the troopers stand guard at the docking ring and two step back, standing just behind the officer on his left and right flanks.

She isn't particularly pleased by the requirement to escort the guy around the place, but if practically shoving her breasts in his face is what it takes to get this all over with quickly and easily, well, she'll do it. "Yes sir, we'll take care of that as soon as we can." She smiles as cheerfully as she can muster, which is actually quite a bit, considering how little he really noticed. The credit transfer is simple enough, and small enough to be nothing more than a nuisance.

She nods to the officer professionally and watches the troopers leave. Once the cargo bay door is shut, she lets out a breath she wasn't even really aware she was holding in. "Okay. Time to go." She purses her lips, frowning with her eyes. "Sorry," she says. "We probably could have avoided that. My fault." With this, she turns to head back to the bridge.

Nate, who was in the middle of doing an upgrade, finally rolls down into the cargo bay just as everyone it turning to leave. Trill gets to work breaking out the passenger supplies(blankets, benches, etc).

Daine makes his repairs, but things are not totally back to normal. There are a couple injector valves which seem like they now need to be cleaned(once the engine is turned off).

When Kera hits the bridge, the Imperials come over the commlink and state, "You are cleared to land at the specified coordinates."

    Kera

As she stomps up the stairs, Kera shoves her arms through her sleeves and zips her flight suit up most of the way. No reason to practically flash the refugees. If she has to deal with them, that is. "Corran, come up to the bridge for a minute," she calls out as she goes. She drops into her seat and gets the ship moving again.

Assuming Corran does follow her up, she turns to him and says, "I need you to be a gun-toting tough guy while we have a pile of refugees in the cargo bay. We have to keep them from doing anything to the salt, and from fighting with each other or messing with the ship. I don't think they will do anything, but I'm not willing to just assume that. So, your job while they're on board is to do what you can to keep the peace down there. While we're in hyperspace, I'll assist. Make sure you're armed, but keep your hands on your weapon so it can't get out of your control, and keep it set on stun. No shooting holes in the ship."
