Re: Forgotten Realms Game
Corth remembers his magical cloak, and the semi-solid throwing stars it contains. They might just work... he thinks as he palms two of them from his cloak, and throws them at Edwina.
SpoilerMy calculations; +1 BAB, +5 Magical Bonus (probably should overcome Eddy's DR - if any), +4 DEX mod (throwing), -2 for Two-Weapon Fighting.

Serene orders all her zombies to attack the wizard and flank him to help the others.
Spoiler
All of them get a +2 flanking bonus so it should be effectively an AC 18. Not sure if I got the numbers right because only the human zombie and wolf skeleton are in the SRD. the human skeleton uses the warrior skeleton thing. all use claws or slam except for the wolves which bite.

She then casts grease, catching as many as possible of the Edwins as she can in its area and perhaps one or two of her undead. but she avoids hitting an ally or George with it. [DC 15]
Then she moves into position and fires a Color Spray also at as many Edwins as possible. She definatly avoids hitting any allies with it (and avoids firing it if anyone is in the way) but doesn't mind hitting her undead since they are immune to mind effecting patterns. [DC 15]

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
SpoilerWell, Corth is standing back throwing stars/shurikens. So I shouldn't be affected by that Color Spray. Although, what MoMC says goes...
If I knew I'd get such an awesome magic (throwing) item so soon, I would've been a Halfling. Would've got +2 DEX too...
Seeing another one of Edwina's images disappear gave Corth small satisfaction, as he knew that if they didn't stop him soon, whatever he was casting was probably going to obliterate them all. Corth pursed his lips and threw another two stars from his cloak.

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
(Well, all of the undead are around Edwin, and the mirror images are there, too, well, not anymore)
Edwin's mirror images are now gone, but as soon as the wolf's teeth hit Edwin, something happens (Contigency!). Another Edwin appears three feet to the right of him, and the original Ediwn's mirror images return. Worse, Edwin managed to keep his concentration. Worse yet (critical missing sucks), George missed Edwin and hit one of the goblin skeletons.

Seeing the contingency spell go off, Serene yells. "Gah! This won't do! ... quick, human corpses and wolves trip up these cookiecutter transvestites! Goblins, go for the throat, chest, or groin whichever is closest!"
Turning to the others, she says
"How are the rest of you coming along? I'll try to keep her off-balance as much as I can."

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
(Okay, if you use the dagger, it's a +5 weapon, and along with damage, roll a d% twice.)
One of the wolves destroys another of Edwin's mirror images. Somehow, it seems as though he's always the last Edwin left, no matter what order the images are destroyed in. Also, it wasn't really apparent at first, but their skin seems to have become gray. They've got Stoneskin on them (well, only the real one does, but they all look like they do), also from the Contigency.
Also (as I, as a DM, hate how ten minutes is like a gajillion rounds), Edwin has cast half of his spell.
(Oh yeah! I almost forgot this bit...)
When Maxwell willed his gloves to work, both his bow and the arrow he was holding disappeared.

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
It appears that Edwin's reaction time has been reduced, as the dagger just barely hit, utterly destroying the mirror image. What's more, Quin notices that she's become slightly... invisible.
As for Max, he noticed that when he willed his gloves to work, his armaments didn't disappear. They shrank. They're still there, in the palm of his gloves, held in stasis. Perhaps the items would unshrink if he were to will them back to normal. The above post is Vorpal, enjoy decapitation.

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
SpoilerHold on, no. Save DC for spells is 10 + Spell Level + Caster's Stat Bonus. The Caster's Stat Bonus is whatever stat the caster uses for casting spells. So a Wizard casting Fireball (3rd level spell) and having an INT of 18 (+4 modifier) would have a save DC of 10 + 3 + 4 = 17.
Anyways...
Reflex - (d20+8)[23]
Well, unless his casting stat is 32+, I saved either way. 11-17 (or is it 18?) is -6. Quin's down and dying.

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
(Wait, I didn't level you up to four?! ****! I need to keep track of this crap.... Don't worry, I'll give you a free Deus Ex Machina point for my mistake! Sorry that I have to fast-forward this thing to its ending, but it seems I'm an idiot.)
As the fireball begins to engulf the party, an invisible wall of force seems to block it from Corth, Quin, and George. A robed figure appears in the middle of the room. Elminster has apparently decided his presence was needed.
"Edwin, I'm afraid my friends here aren't quite ready to die by your hand. If you should continue, I may be forced to do more than humiliate you."
"Blast you, sorceror! You'll not have my scrolls!"
"*sigh* Sleep."
Edwin promptly falls over, asleep. His mirror images blink out of existence, and his Simulacrum is dispelled by Elminster. He turns to the party.
"Thank you for your assistance, but I fear I may have overestimated you. It seems you have less experience than I'd thought. Fortunately, I know some people with whom you may train.
(That's it, no more of my idiocy, all of you go straight to level 10, as Elminster just forwarded all the XP for beating Edwin to you guys! Also, you now have COMPLETE SETS of Figurines of Wondrous Power, and Feather Tokens. BUT, for both sets, the contents return to the box they were found in every night at midnight, no matter where they are, or how many times they've been used. Even single-use Feather Tokens and broken figurines return. The boxes are easy to lug around, especially since you guys found a Bag of Holding Type V! Also, there are enough Gloves of Item Storage for everyone to conceal weapons in their hands! Also, 50k in gold! And you can steal all of those items Edwin had on him, except his amulet, which is impossible to move.)The above post is Vorpal, enjoy decapitation.

Re: Forgotten Realms Game
Serene
The young necromancer groans and rubs her temples, the mental backlash of having her undead puppets destroyed in an instant giving her a nasty headache. Then just as the powerful spellcaster is defeated, she feels a sudden surge of power course through her body and mind.
"Ugh..." Serene opens her eyes and looks down at the crossbow in her hand. It glows magically and seems to radiate power. Probing her own mind, he is surprised to find new knowledge, skills and spells where she didn't remember having any. The world suddenly seeming a bit smaller as she realizes the powerful magic she suddenly knows.
"Does... does anyone else here feel like they... well drank about ten lifetimes worth of experience in a single gulp?" she gingerly puts her crossbow down and checks her spellbook, just barely surprised to see several new and powerful spells wriggling across its pages, trying to settle themselves down.
"Or... got hit by several years at a mages academy?"
Looking down at her spellbook, now stuffed with restless and crowded spells, she sighs. "I might need to make myself a bigger spellbook." Fortunately, she has an idea on how to make one.

"Ah, such is the effect of being exposed to magic of the level Edwin can use. Having read a book of the Nether Scrolls, he now radiates power, which releases when he is defeated. I redirected what amount would have affected me to the rest of you, as I don't need more power. As for your further training, it just so happens that being a chosen of Mystra comes with many benefits. One of which being the Silver Fire of Mystra. I can manifest it into many effects, including attacks that don't hurt.
