Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Right, the first of the PMs I sent you, when you were told what to do by them, you felt a force pushing at your mind. But you managed to push it off.

Ugh, it's been hard to get on this board lately...
So, night uneventful? We wake up without being attacked?

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Don't be ridiculous. That would just be silly.
Anyway, let's see if Sumner says anything particular to Kaleff when he hands over the watch.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Right, I'd like initiative for everybody please.
monster initiative - (d20+7)[15]
Kaleff and Sumner are currently awake, so they can act normally.
Everyone else must make listen checks at DC 10 (it would be 0, but you're asleep) in order to awaken.
If you pass, you spend that round dazed, and are prone.
If you fail the listen check, you sleep through that round. You will have a different listen DC the next round depending on what happens.
Also, Sumner is fatigued unless he passes a DC 15 Fortitude Save.
Everyone else is fatigued unless they pass a DC 10 Fortitude Save.

No aura yet. You'll be able to activate it in your go.
Also, make the Fortitude Save in case you roll a natural 1.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
I'd actually like to modify that action (Although the attack/ damage rolls can be kept), if Sumner doesn't have to charge to attack, He'll take Combat Expertise of +5 instead of power attack.
...I went back and re-read what happened the last time Sumner encountered this thingIf there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

Okay, Sumner can instead have the old combat expertise, but he doesn't get that until his go.

Orin and Ismal are still asleep all this round.
Draven will be prone and dazed in his go, then not dazed after that (and I assume not prone, but we'll see what he does with his go).

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Well, Draven is dazed, which, as defined by the SRD, means you cannot act normally.
If he CAN do any of the following, he shall.
1. Wake Ismal up.
2. Grab shield and mace.
3. stand up and LOA the tentacle monster.
4. switch his aura to Acid Shield, dealing 6 acid damage to the tentacle beast whenever it attacks one of us.Draven 'God-Slayer' Kheldravan - Dragon Shaman, healer, tank. "Balls-Driven Brute", officially retired.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Sorry, I had terrible trouble posting this morning, and I've been hacking a dungeon 4th ed style the rest of the day.
first attack on Sumner - (d20+14)[34] This is before Sumner's go, so before he gets his expertise bonus.
first damage on Sumner - (d8+6)[10]
second attack on Sumner - (d20+14)[31]
second damage on Sumner - (d8+6)[7]
first attack on Kaleff - (d20+14)[16]
first damage on Kaleff - (d8+6)[8]
second attack on Kaleff - (d20+14)[32]
second damage on Kaleff - (d8+6)[9]
If you get hit by any tentacles, you must make a DC18 will save or be slowed.
If Sumner passes his will save, then he can move to the monster and attack it with his combat expertise. If he's slowed, I assume he'll just move to the monster?
Kaleff's go.
Then it'll be Draven's. What I meant is he gets one action, move or standard, (stupid archaic system confusing me by having different effects for statuses to 4th ed) and he can also of course activate an aura. So, what'll the action be? He's currently prone, and next to Ismal.Last edited by Ozzy_G; 2008-06-20 at 07:04 PM.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Critical hit confirmation on Sumner. (d20+14)[27]
Possible attack of opportunity if Sumner moves to it. (d20+14)[19]
damage - (d8+6)[9] And if that's a hit, it's another save vs slowed.
Looks like 34 damage for Sumner in total then.Last edited by Ozzy_G; 2008-06-20 at 07:44 PM.

Kaleff will take a 'Withdraw' action, as it is impossible for the monster to miss him, now. Will move as far away as possible (around 60ft) without going too deep into the woods. What size category is this monster?Last edited by NobleSavage; 2008-06-20 at 10:58 PM.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Because of Draven's shout, Ismal's listen check this turn is at DC 5 and Orin's check is at DC 10. This includes the penalties for being asleep, so don't worry about those.
The creature is Large.
Right, another go for the monster, then it'll be Orin, who will only be able to take the one action, and will be prone, unless he fails the check in which case he'll be asleep.
first attack on Sumner - (d20+14)[31]
first damage - (d8+6)[10]
second attack on Sumner - (d20+14)[16]
second damage - (d8+6)[10]
third attack on Sumner - (d20+14)[31]
third damage - (d8+6)[7]
fourth attack on Sumner - (d20+14)[15]
fourth damage - (d8+6)[12]
If any of these hit Sumner (which I expect) and he's still at positive HP, then he'll need to make an opposed grapple roll against grapple - (d20+18)[31] or be held and bitten for (2d6+3)[12]

I can't get to Sumner's character sheet it seems. What's his AC?
That'll be some damage to the monster from acid.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Hmm. Odd. I can re-send you the link, if you like.
AC (Slowed) is 16.
Grapple - (1d20+15)[26]
So that's four hits with an total of 39 damage.
EDIT:
So, Slowed, Grappled, and down to 20 HP. Hm. Good thing this is a level-appropriate encounter, otherwise I'd feel like this monster was overpowered!Last edited by The Great Skenardo; 2008-06-21 at 12:55 PM.
