Circle Dance, is the spell, obviously, and here's a spot check [roll0] for the pair of figures.

So, if you post a post with rolls in it too quickly it won't work either?

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Can't speak for everyone, but Draven just doesn't have a helluva lot to say right now. His mind is pretty well occupied.
Draven 'God-Slayer' Kheldravan - Dragon Shaman, healer, tank. "Balls-Driven Brute", officially retired.
Runa Redgrave - Appears to be a Wizard, but looks can deceive. Angst-fueled daughter of immigrants.
Kali Meliamne - Wild-Elf Monk with a disdain for injustice, clothing.
Remus Rutgerson - Living perfection turned evil, trapped between revenge and redemption.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
If Sumner were more mischeviously minded, he could have quite a bit of fun with the whole "looking 18" thing.
If there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Which spell is Kaleff using again? Is it
Arcane Eye?
Don't worry, I remember now, it's Prying Eyes.Last edited by Ozzy_G; 2008-11-21 at 07:33 AM.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
I'd like a spot check for Kaleff please, to notice further details. If you roll really well, you might be able to lip-read some of the things the man is saying.

Mmm, and a question. I've never quite understood how some divination spells work in conjunction with another, the 'heightened senses' ones and the 'remote viewing' ones. Under Clairaudience/Clairvoyance it says;Unlike other scrying spells, this spell does not allow magically or supernaturally enhanced senses to work through it.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Trying for a bit more information, as Ismal pumps Kaleff for details on the big tattooed guy (presumably, the new host) - an identity, a background, etc.
Also, hoping to "remember" anything Ismal knows about Govan's powers and predilections, from her time partying with the elite back in Ralm.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
What does this mean about other remote viewing spells, such as Arcane Eye? Would spells such as Arcane Sight, See Invisibility and Detect Secret Doors work through it? I would guess the eyes from 'Prying Eyes' would not, but I'm not sure with the other.
Okay, Kaleff notices a few more details.
SpoilerAzakan's clothing has quite a few rips and tears, and he has several bruises. The tall tattooed man in plate armour has a face like Sumner's, but you think he's in his late 50s. Kaleff thinks he recognises a bit of what Govan says, something about a deal, a ritual, and power is mentioned several times, as well as prime minister. The man with the strange growth on his chin looks like Cofaos Emorik, who Kaleff once travelled with, but older.
Ismal knows thatSpoilerGovan's real name is Gerash Volanti. He married into the Govan family, and became it's head after the previous head died in mysterious circumstances, so he is known as Archmage Govan although that's actually his wife's surname, not his. He has several sons and daughters. During the time of the Empire, he was the Governor of Ralm, and held several ministerial positions in the Imperial Bureaucracy at different times.
Govan is an amoral man with a warped sense of humour, but he prefers to use people rather than kill them. There are much more overtly evil Archmages than him. He is more interested in control and power than evil for evil's sake. He is very, very clever, and a fairly powerful mage, but not incredibly so. He's mainly gained power through savvy and political cunning rather than raw arcane might. He's not a coward, but there have been myriad assassination attempts against him, and he normally runs away from assassins and has his guards kill them. You don't know exactly what sort of spells he has, but he certainly can at least teleport, read minds, summon demons, and use a variety of mind-control spells.

Did Ismal recognize the big guy from Kaleff's description of him and his tattoos, or remember anything from her previous dealings with Govan?

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Okay this calls for a Sense Motive from Orin.
Not that he really believes or disbelieves the priest per se, Orin just wants to figure out if the guy really believes what he says, or if he's just giving Orin the ... er.. I think it's called the 'hard sale' ?

Did Ismal recognize the big guy from Kaleff's description of him and his tattoos, or remember anything from her previous dealings with Govan?Spoilerthe same tattoos as Sumner, but you don't know him. However, the guy near Govan, with the white streak in his hair and the wattle hanging from his chin sounds like Jeshyre Emorik, a general flunky with a modicum of magical ability. He's reasonably intelligent, and quite a risk-taker who's wormed his way up to Govan's side. He's Govan's yes-man and sycophant.
Orin believes that the old priest does believe what he's saying.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Kaleff can only cast Arcane Eye in a place he can see himself, and it only detects Visual information. The same with Prying Eyes. Is it Clairaudience then? It's just that you call it "a magical spy" which confused me, since that doesn't really sound like Clairaudience.

It was Clairaudince, sorry guys. It was clear in my mind, but then I clouded it up when I posted that OOC message. Clairaudince for sure, though. Arcane Eye in a little bit, after he gets a handle on whats going on.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
Ok, so we'll start with an Arcane Eye, then Arcane Sight, Detect Secret Doors, and he'll send the Eye down to where the grouping of powerful figures are stationed.
When he comes across people that seem important, he'll concentrate on them for a round to ascertain their power.
Oh, and he'll keep the Arcane Eye up highish, he's aware these dudes may be able to see invisible things, so he'll do his best to keep it out of the normal range of sight.
He'll also be looking for auras that prevent or detect teleportation inside the cavern-room.Last edited by NobleSavage; 2008-11-23 at 12:51 PM.

Re: Age of Ruin OOC: Facing down destiny
I guess it would be 20, and a seperate opposed roll vs spot to see if they notice. That's the normal rules.
Or you could use a Disarm attempt, depending on what's appropriate.
They both have Endure Elements and Greater Mage Armour cast on them.

Thats what I thought, though I just realized Kaleff has Grease prepared...
On another note, I'll be on vacation for a bit, and so internet connection will be a mite spotty. Should get in a solid one-a-day, but will do what I can to increase that.
