Szilard's Game (aka, the awesomeist DnD game ever!)

"Wow, nice map you have there! I wonder what's on the map?" Dael says, as he tries looking for a key or legend somewhere on the map.

"Very nice," agrees Rodaugh.

Bardic Knowledge - (1d20+1)[9] to recognise the contents of the map.

"Well, thanks for this, and for the wand... and sorry about killing the guy, but he did attack us first." He seems to be trying to convince himself as much as the barkeep. "Anything else you need from us?"

[Szilard]

"Not really, but I'll tell you about this map here..."

"This big chunk of Land is Tootai, our world, well part of it, there's some land to the west, but no one on this side of the continent has seen it. The land within the orange border is Onatooni, our country. Skidadle is on that chunk of land seperated by the water. Our capital is north by the mountains, Pentopolis they call it. Roads connect all of our citys and also represent our borders. To the North past the mountains are where the Dwarves live, and the elves live mostly in the forests around here. South of the Rainforest (That big green chunk right there) is Tejapano, a nation in the desert. Past the river to the west are the western colonies, part of nations far away. Roads connect most of the land here, or at least the valuable land that citys use. Each square is twenty miles squared."

"As for the blue guy, you were probably justified in killing him. See anything interesting down there?"

[Naleh]

"Well..."

And the bard launches into an epic tale of the deep, dark, dangerous world below: the perilous meeting with a troglodyte scout raiding party army, the discovery of the mysterious moving wall, the ten twenty fifty foot drops, the life-threatening conflict with the crazy little blue guy, and the massive magical mirror that tried to steal their souls.

Strangely, in every instance Rodaugh seems to be the hero.

Dael isn't really listening to Rodaugh's tall tale, he's more preoccupied with the map. Wow. That's quite a map there. So many places to go, so many places to see! It'd be quite an adventure to be able to see all those places! I wonder if it's alright to get going now! But... I wonder if anyone'll go with me. He then settles down a bit, to daydream a little about traveling the world.

[Szilard]

Bump, feel free to daydream, chat with the Tavern owner, or explore the city outside.

[Naleh]

While wondering where the rest of the party went, Rodaugh chats with the tavern owner, more out of relaxing habit than necessity. "Tell me more about the colonies. I know the Far Nations want land and resources from here, but not much more. Who are they?"

[Szilard]

"I do not know much about there, except that the colonies have been there for maybe a hundred years or so, mostly gnomes that live there if I remember correctly. I think the Blue colonies are going to try to expand soon, take over the other colonies and move east maybe, you can never be sure these days."

[Szilard]

Can I hear a bump?

[Szilard]

Other than one of mine that is...

[Naleh]

(Huh. I thought I replied before now... Guess not.)

"Really? Scary," Rodaugh comments. "No, you never can be sure..."

The bard looks thoughtfully at Dael for a moment, and then back at the parchment. As a bard, it is his job to recognise what the audience wants, so he noticed Dael's eyes light up at the map. And they'd made a fair sum adventuring down below - other lands are sure to habour more wealth...

"Dael. Have you ever wanted to visit Tejapano?"

[Szilard]

((Wow, didn't notice this till today, of course I kind of stopped checking. ))

Baaa da dummm, badta badada daduh dum...

((It does? Wow. I just assumed it meant to "bump the thread up to the top", using "bump" as a pushing verb...))
