Question Bamboo , need help with stats

I have gotten the brilliant idea of using bamboo as a material for weapons and crafting( and also enchanting it with ironwood duh:P) and i need help coming up with the stats. I have the ideas of these weapons. and armor, and by stats i mean the armor bonuses, the weight, the prices, and how many pieces would be able to be enchanted with 1 spell, ( i would consider a bundle of bamboo a single item for weight and carrying purposes)

    club,
    quarterstaff,
    spear,
    shield,
    lance,
    javilin,

anymore ideas? input would be real helpful. also please tell me if this has been suggested and direct me to the thread . thank you:)

I think bamboo would make one hell of a javelin or a lance.

I mean that thing I sharp have you ever run your finger by a bamboo edge?

I think it could be great for piercing weapons like arrows or perhaps crossbow bolts?

I imagine that Bamboo would have something in the neighborhood of 7 Hardness & 12HP/inch of thickness, somewhere between wood & stone. As for weapons & armor, I wouldn't think that an item made of bamboo would differ statistically from their wooden equivalent.

I'd make bamboo similar to Ironwood but with an extra +1 to damage and +5 hardness. That should do the trick, since I don't think there's any way to model bamboo's flexibility in D&D....Oh, and increase the Dex max of an armor by 1.

Don't forget that there's a difference between cured and uncured bamboo. Uncured bamboo would be less durable and more flexible. Mechanics for curing the bamboo should take into account that well-cured bamboo needs takes at least 6-12 months. (My dad grows nontropical bamboo for fun, and I've done research.)

Lightbulb Re: Bamboo , need help with stats

well i bought a 56 inch pole of bamboo ( i don't know why) and it cracked real easy( of course was swinging it around and dropping it but who cares?).
it was real light, so that is one of the reasons im thinking of making weapons and armor out of it

    for example:

    bamboo sheild(ironwood)
cost: (maybe bamboo would be 50 gp a foot or something?)
+ 2 AC ( because it is as strong as steel)
armor check penalty: 0 (maybe? it would be light wouldnt it?)
spell failure 5%( still would hinder your arm?)
