Nozomi holds out the Aether's hand in front of it, palm up and open. Stray rocks from all around start flying toward the space above it, then she curls the Aether's fingers and they compress into a boulder held in it's hand. She produces her notepad and starts scribbling some calculations on it while the boulder is forming, but stays ready to react to danger.

Marveling at being able to get off two shots in a single combat without feeling the lack of Precise Shot, Shiali lets off another freezing burst at an unengaged construct.

Dencamp breaks away towards the treeline, intent on getting some cover before his lightly-armored mech is ripped to shreds. As he goes he sheathes his blades and draws his crossbow.

Crowbar and Deneith slice and dice, respectively, the closest construct, heavily damaging it. It tries (and fails) to slam the commander, while the other constructs pepper the back lines with quarrels, one of which hits Shiali for 9 damage before DR.

Nozomi finishes her calculations in her head and draws a yellow crosshair on the crystal tower on her screen with the modified prestidigitation from before. She starts mumbling some numbers under her breath as she draws the Aether's arm back, concluding them with a calm "Targeting complete."

The calm before, of course, has built up to her gleeful bellow of "GEIKIGAN CATAPULT, FIRE!" just before the Aether launches the boulder right into the tower.

The catapult stone smacks into the side of the tower, denting the stone facade. The smaller constructs express...well, they come pretty close to expressing alarm, and turn to face Nozomi's mech, preparing to fire more javelins. Meanwhile, a large amount of crashing and thrashing can be heard from the trees on the other side of the tower, as something very large and with very many heads bursts out of the trees about 80' away from the group - at first glance, it appears to be a five-headed hydra, though even a quick glance will tell you that this is, again, a wood, stone, and metal simulacrum of a creature. In this case, a very heavily armored one. Despite its construct nature, it lets out a keening roar in major thirds, and each head fixes one of your mechs with a malevolent, mechanical glare.

(Dencamp, Crowbar, Volker, and Shiali still have a move this turn. There are four small constructs and the MechaHydra scattered around the edge of the clearing, and one heavily damaged small construct stuck between Deneith and Crowbar).

"The smaller ones are having a hard time penetrating our armor," Shiali calls over the crystals. Her own mech is undamaged, thanks to a shimmering blue shield that flashed into existence as it was hit. "We should focus on that larger one as soon as it closes."

She follows her own advice, and hits the thing with an ice ray.

Crowbar decides to dispatch the wounded construct before moving onto the MechaHydra since trying to move past it would just lead to more attacks, and the less things that can attack his mobile suit, the better.

    "Um...Crowbar?"

Crowbar, despite talking to thin air, succeeds in crushing the faux-life out of the construct next to him. Shiali's ice bolt crystalizes on the hydra's torso, wrenching a few armor plates out of place.

Dencamp and Volker (despite being the ones whose players I contacted personally on AIM, ahem) make default attacks on one of the small constructs; Dencamp's sneak attack on the one nearest him opening up a path for Volker's wand-ray to heat up its interior to the point of messy- and awesome-looking detonation.

(Remaining: three small constructs and hydra construct, scattered around the edge of the clearing.)

The remaining constructs focus fire on Nozomi's artillery frame, however, the one javelin that does hit pings right off of her improved armor. The hydra fixes its glares on Commander Deneith and charges him, biting a bit into the Fernia Soul's armor and rocking it back.

"Aagh, ow, Flame dammit!" shouts Deneith as he returns a somewhat sluggish blow that glances off the hydra's armor. "Focus...ouch...focus fire on the big one."

"Yes, please keep that big one away from me, thank you." Nozomi says, again loading the Aether's catapult with no regard whatsoever for how much all the displaced stone will piss off the EPA Druids with Pointy Sticks.

The Iron Wolf plants its feet firmly into the ground bracing for an all-out-attack. Crowbar seems enraged, letting out a metallic roar at the mecha hydra, a sound he's not made since joining the Mobile Suit team.

Iron Wolf twists at the hip and pushes off with its right leg while bringing the arm-blade down in a vicious overhand chop, then twists its wrist while pushing off with its left leg, pivoting again at the hip to deliver a savage bladed backhand...
