    Sayuri

Morose determination and a spark of desire to keep the chills away; she walked the long road without a word. Unheard, her reasons and methods kept secret.

Natsumi looks over to Shunrai. "With luck, we won't be the most odd or stressful thing they'll have to deal with today. Looking for Kurina, Kurina's cook book. Could be an easy mistake." She shrugs, then thinks about the other question. "I agree with Kyoshin. If we find Kuro, we'll help him of course. This all means we need to actually find one of the Sensei's. This is just Tenmai's best guess." She shakes her head. "Besides, I'm sure once Shin tells Sayuri Kuro went missing she'll... Never mind. I'm not sure what she's doing originally let alone what she'll do now."

    Konohagakure

Team Kurina heads inside the "greatest ninja village" in order to find their lost sensei. Unfortunately, local customs have them heading to the police station first. The squat blue police station is a mere two-stories tall, round, and rather long since it reaches across two whole blocks. A lone kid sits in front of the station and lazily carves a wooden block into a more recognizable shape. He looks up when you approach, then looks back down to his block. After a full second, the kid does an immediate double--then a triple--take and hops to his feet. "Ash-nin! Don't think you're gonna sneak in here without me noticing!" The kid reaches for his hip pouch and draws a shiny black kunai from it.

    Traveling from Konohagakure

Shin, Sayuri, and Miya travel toward the Valley of the End, where both statues had long since been damaged by unknown shinobi in a battle shortly before the rise of the Sixth Hokage. Travel is slow, due to the rain-slickened tree branches surrounding--and giving the name of--Konohagakure. The group is obviously not traveling by road, since no roads lead to the Valley and few people would want to go to Otogakure.

"Oi, he caught us. I guess we'd better turn ourselves in. This is the closest police station, right?" Kyoshin grins and walks right on past the boy with the kunai, not worried in the slightest. He reaches for the door, and, acting the gentleman, holds it open for the two ladies. "After you, fellow Ash spies. Let us hope they don't check the gate that we cleverly signed in at and received instructions from."

A truly observant person would also notice that as Kyoshin holds open the door, he puts himself between the girls and the kid with the kunai. Looking down over his shoulder, Kyoshin adds, "You know, since you caught us, perhaps you should escort us to the captain? He'd probably want to know right away."

Shunrai looks at the kid, then at Kyoshin. "Yeah, we're totally spy material. Who would have thought our sheer averageness would fail to let us blend in." She seems rather unconcerned about the kid as well, after all she's still wrapped in the winds protective embrace. She walks on in and waits inside for the others, it might be best to let Natsumi do the talking.

Natsumi glares slightly at Kyoshin. Of course, he would be good with kids. She of course dislikes them with a passion. She didn't like being one, and she still has flash backs of trying to heal injured children at Tenmai's. Oh the screaming...

Her eyes close for a few seconds, as Shunrai beats her to the sarcastic come back. Damn. Then in a calm normal tone she says."Also, perhaps our escort could provide us with his name? It'd be rude to escort spys otherwise." Better to be safe then sorry, since the odds are high the kid is related to someone who works at the police station.

    Sayuri

“Chu!” Her seventh sneeze in the Valley of the End of good health. She spared a while to admire the water, the cliffs and what was left of the statues even though she wasn’t here for them. Scrolls of ninja history painted a picture in her mind of the brutal power of the ‘greatest’ ninja. She thought it was little better than buffoonery. There was a reason Genin were always taught about the importance of shadows. Students who mastered Shadow Arts were praised very highly. Sayuri didn’t have a very good relationship with shadows and she’d never discovered the ‘knack’ for shaping them. She never needed those honours – she was already a rare Genius who ‘knew it was bad manners to eclipse her classmates like that’.
Her feet came stomping on the First Hokage’s stone head with all the evil intent of a vandal. Not that she was going to deface it any further, she was thwacking the stone head more as a ha, loser, serves you right.
Sayuri didn’t want to peer over the edge in case she got vertigo. Or maybe the angry spirit of the First Hokage might shove her over the cliff into the water. She plunked down on the head and asked the Uchiha something.

“What kinds of masks do Hunter-nin in your village wear?”

    Shimura Shin

After a few rapidly dwindling questions, Shin has lapsed into semi-silence for the impromptu Sayuri-trip. Keeping up with and aiding Sayuri and Miya like they are a real three-man-team, Shin becomes impassiver and impassiver, the glimmerings of emotion disappearing behind a mask of the quintessential shinobi.

Standing on the head of the shadow-hokage of konoha, the very edge staring out into the rain and the spray, Shin is silent, and still.
