    ((The scouts do thier job, while the others sleep? where is everyone? too bad school ended or I could smack hexbox for not posting...))

    Joining the skeletal patrol works fine, nobody seems to even look at you, but you see that there are at least twenty living humanoids around the place as well as the two-dozen "ravenclaw" and a dozen or so skeletal creatures in patrols.

    After a while following the patrol you get back to deer Mr. Zenrid, he talks to someone who wears an odd armor that reminds you of snakes. You manage to loose the patrol and listen to the two speak, this is what you manage to hear: (* means you didn't hear that well.)

    Zenrid: "How well does the preperations going?"
    Other: "Quite well, unlike yourself. when do you get rid of the new guys?"
    Zenrid: "I dont. you do it. the last time I fought against the Invisible Shield's predator group I lost an arm, and the side-effects are dire."
    Other: "What do you mean zenrid? I thought we had an agreement! you got like a dozen undead battlegroups to spare."
    Zenrid: "That's the point. with losing my arm I slowly lost control. most of my lieutenants are unresponsive, and the most powerful jest broke out of my control. I have no power over my army. that's why I came here hakeem. I need some cash to fix my hand."
    Hakeem: "Fine. take some of my vault. but all continues as planned?"
    Zenrid: "Naturally. getting a new hand will only take two or three days in the necromarket. f*** days, at necromarket. look for me. I'll get control over the army again by then."
    Hakeem: "And what about triseron?"
    Zenrid: "God knows whats up with the damn metaling and his reclaimed. I jest want them ready for the **..."
    Hakeem: "Silence, someone is listening. barak, mirono, search for intruders and don't come back until you find them!"
    Zenrid: "These guys are good, don't underestimate them."
    Hakeem: "I think you forgot who you are talking to, I know their skills better then you."


    Two mean-looking humans start looking around. you gotta think of a way outta here now. not to mention the entire godamn base is alert to the fact someone who does not belong is around.

    This is really smarter to act that way. good thinking.

    You got unnoticed for a while, but when almost at the clear Zenrid gets a look at you, saying "these guy aren't mine...", puzzled, then he gets the idea and calls out the other while he backs off. (his action-move back 30 ft.)

    Mindlink: Quite unfortunitally, bluffing has never been a skill of mine. On the other hand...

    If Joshua can get within 30 ft. of Zenrid with a single move action (or he's already there), he'll move so that he is 30 ft. away, draw his hand crossbow as he moves and grab the poison he's got on his belt. If he can apply the drow knock out poison on the same turn, he will.Next turn, if possible, he'll shoot at Zenrid and hope to KO him.

    On the other hand, if he can't get to 30 ft. away, he'll simply make a break for it, moving in the direction of the front door and stay as far away from enemies as he can (move speed of 40 ft.).

    Ok, I'm going to draw and poison my crossbow this turn, shoot him next turn, and whether or not he passes out, run after that. If he is KO'd, I'll grab him when I run. If anything makes it obvious that I won't be able to shoot him, I'll skip that step.

    The mutt starts by delaying to go after Joshua, and then trots forward 20ft wagging his tail. <Josh, we need to get out of here. Whatever you're doing, make it quick.>

    Next turn if Joshua attacks but doesn't KO Zenrid Jack will run forward and bite the man. If zenrid was KOd or not shot at Jack will instead back up 30 ft after the retreating Joshua and bark at anyone who comes up behind them.

    Bite - (1d20+9)[13] damage - (1d4+3)[7]
    Intimidate - (1d20+1)[8]
    Current AC: 25, Touch AC: 17

    ((KOed? that easy? a BBEG? naaaaa....you ain't seen nothing of his tricks yet.))

    Zenrid does not seem bothered by the crossbow, or the fact the dog is getting near, he says to jack "I have eradicated most of your kind, only three of your kind lives in the city, soon it will be two.", then he changes, turning into a huge undeadish animal. some sort of massive lizard in life with many jagged teeth in his large jaws it is clearly a predator, the lizard stands on two powerful legs, but this one is clearly undead, and probably more dangerous then its living counterpart. wierd fact is that the monster weaks the same open shirt as zenrid does, and the same eyefold. (refer to page 4, first encounter with the necromancer.)

    ! With an audible yelp and a mental cry of apprehensive surprise Jack saw his tentative plan fall completely into tatters.

    <Run. Just... run. I think I can delay him, but there is no way I can stop this thing.>

    Revised Round 2 action:
    As quick as he can Jack's eyes flash silver and with the a flick of an ear he speeds an emerald tinted ball of sticky translucent ectoplasm at Zenrid. Then he turns and scampers up to 40 ft after Joshua, but does not pass the man.
    ((This only works if Zenrid is still medium sized, as wearing the same shirt and eyefold seems to imply. Otherwise Jack will hold his ground taking total defense to give Joshua a round head start in their flight for the exit.))
    Ranged Touch Attack - (1d20+13)[16] If hit, entangled for 5 rounds.

    Joshua's mind just stopped for a second as Zenrid became a monster. Such an opponent... how could they hope to even escape? Then Jack's orders entered his head and he saw before him the possibility of escape... or losing an ally.

    Mindlink: Don't worry about covering for me, just MOVE. I'll be fine getting out, it's you I'm worried about. You may be able to handle him for a few seconds, but any longer and you'll simply be torn apart. We both need to get moving, we won't stand a chance!

    At the same time, Joshua's hands blur together and he watches the world begin to change. Mindlink: Run, now! He won't be able to see me, much less hurt me right now, so you need to move!

    ((Using another Ki point to turn etherial until my next turn, then moving as far as possible, but trying to keep Jack in line of sight. Ki points:6/9. As for KOing him, well there was always the chance that he wouldn't do something like this, and that if he didn't, he rolled a natural 1 on the saving throw))

    Relieved to see Joshua escape etherial, Jack decides not to revile his psionic powers just yet: instead with ears laid back against his skull and tail between his legs he does what any dog confronted with a monster and devoid of a 'master' does: runs. It's always possible Zenrid was bluffing and doesn't really know what he is... maybe.

    Jack hustles 100 ft toward the exit, and if possible ends his turn with something between him and Z so Z can't charge.

    Also, how high is the celling and is there another floor above us?

    50 ft. plenty of room for zenrid, but why do you want to go up? you are nearly at the door. you did manage to get yourself a good cover so zenrid cannot charge. and he is actually too big to follow properly, so he transforms back to human form, and takes a few steps forward as the transformation occures.

    The exit if within reach.
    The problem is, a wierd creature is on the way, looks like a human, but half of his body is replaced with mechanical features like zenrid's arm. does not seem to have any traditional weapons or armor.

    If to note on distances, the exit is 50 ft. away, the thing is right on the exit, and the human-again zenrid (mechanical arm again) is 70 ft. behind you. (distances are for jack. joshua is 20 ft. closer to the exit.)

    ((the odds both to hit with a single strike and to him to get natural 1 at once were very low, knowing he is a spellcaster I would have gone for as many attacks as possible aiming for as much damage as possible, but that's me...but I admit that this trick is rather unique. the bad guys will usually be strange build/rubix homebrew/both.

    The plan was crumbling. They had no support, they were in hostle territory with who knows how many enemies nearby. Now their escape was cut off.

    Mindlink: Jack, can you get to the door? I'll see about distracting or slowing down this thing.

    He dissappears again as quickly as he re-appears. A second later, a bolt appears out of nowhere and flys at the creature blocking the door.

    Using another Ki point to turn etherial again. Using a move action and a second Ki point to activate ghost strike, then attacking with the crossbow.

    Crit - (1d20+13)[14]
    Crossbow - (1d4+1)[3]
    Electric - (1d6)[3]
    Sudden Strike - (5d6)[22] since I should be 30 ft. away. If this hits, the opponent needs to make a DC 13 Fort save or be knocked unconcious.
    Ki points: 4/9, hp 26/45, AC 23 all around.

    Case 1: There is enough room to one side or another of the creature to still get past with nothing more than possibly provoking an AoO.
    Jack grits his teath but doesn't slow down. This might hurt, but it probably won't be fatal. Once past the creature he makes a turn to break line of sight with Z. Total distance: 100 ft.

    If a flying creature could pass above the weird being and out the exit without provoking an AoO where a ground creature would, Jack will speed Up The Walls and and around and out close to the celling to escape.

    Case 2: The creature completely fills the exit.
    Jack turns and jogs down any passages that boarder the outer wall.

    An attempt from the creature to smash jack as he passes fails, but deals some damage to the floor, this attack would have done heavy damage if hit.
    Joshua's bolt hits his mark, and the creature lets out a roar of pain and rage to testify on it. he moves himself to joshua and attempts to take vengeance, but misses yet again.

    Edit: forgot zenrid's action. he backs away 30 feet, and casts some spell. no obvious effect.

    ((terrible rolls on my side with this guy...)

    Joshua clasps his hands together as he dodges the creature's swing and fades from view again. This time he simply runs after Jack, moving at full speed.

    Using another Ki point and turning etherial again. 3 Ki points left. Double moving 80 ft. after Jack. And can Jack get out a door, or will he need me to get it open? I guess that depends on if he wants to change form.
