Yeah, Eberron Core Sourcebook. Just a straight 1d8 damage of electric or cold... thought it was more interesting than acid flasks. :)

Hmm, I'd have to check into the splash damage. I'm not 100% sure and I'm at work right now, so my books arent around.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
Your hide check only applies if you have concealment or cover. Since you no longer have concealment or cover on top of the hill, its impossible to be hidden unless you have an ability that allows you to, such as Hide in Plain Sight.
Also, you took a full round action to Rapid Shot me.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
You need cover or concealment in order to attempt a Hide check. Total cover or total concealment usually (but not always; see Special, below) obviates the need for a Hide check, since nothing can see you anyway.
If people are observing you, even casually, you can’t hide. You can run around a corner or behind cover so that you’re out of sight and then hide, but the others then know at least where you went.
therefor your throw of the javalin isn't valid.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
there was a round after the attack, in which i had to move or hide.
and as i said, hiding in plain sight is only if you are going to hide while being watched, i was not being watched, so i am invis. you can't see me w/o spot then

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
If your opponent moves in such a way that you no longer have the cover or concealment to hide, you are no longer hidden. This has been an arena rule since the first match.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
that's not RAW, if you run behind a corner and hide, and then sneak back out, which i have seen done a few times in the arena, then your no longer hidden... that makes no sense...
but ok, sure...
ranged touch - (1d20+8)[25] vs AC16
damage - (1d6+1)[6] fire damage
if it misses
direction - (1d8)[2] north is 1, clockwise around from there
distance - (1d6)[2] if it's a 1, you take splash damage
move action draw a flask

ref chilepepper
What I've seen done (and done myself) is to move so that LoS is completely broken, then move back to the square that grants cover. By breaking LoS completely, you get by the "being observed" part. If you move to a square that has no cover or concealment, there's nothing to hide behind.<--- Avatar made by bayar

Very good match, indeed. Not the best map for someone with 20' move and a poor swim check

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
Wait. If he doesnt get that +1 for higher ground, that second attack of the rapid shot misses, as my Flat Footed Touch AC is 15 (the number he hit). That would leave me at 1 HP.

High ref Morbius
Actually no... your flatfooted touch AC is 10 + shield bonus(3)= 13.
You don't gain 1 from dex as you were flat footed and the other AC point I don't know where you took it from.
EDIT: Oh, stance of clarity... I don't have TOB with me now but don't you also lose a stance benefict when you are flat footed?Last edited by Morbius; 2008-05-03 at 02:19 PM.

Re: Arena Tournament, Round 40: The Unstoppable Force vs. Jaras
Stance of Clarity, which I activated on my first turn. I gain +2 AC vs one target (Jaras), and -2 AC vs all others.
So, 10 + 3 (shield) + 2 (Stance) = 15
He missed.Last edited by SamTheCleric; 2008-05-03 at 02:19 PM.
