A ledge overlooks more darkness to the west. The ledge is fairly wide but rough. Sand, rocky debris and the bones of small animals cover ti. A roughly hewn stairwell zigs and zags down the side of the ledge, descending into the darkness.

Ulflinn climbs down the rope after Miles and, assuming everything goes alright, then goes down the stairwell.

Sorry, I missed a few posts. Torgan finds that the rope seems sturdy, at least enough to support one of them, and seems like it has been there for at least a week, but not too long. Nothing stands out about the architecture except for foothold carved into the side of the ravine at equal intervals. The rope seems to go on to the bottom, although it is tough to tell.

Miles lands safely at the bottom, noticing the rope going all the way down. Ulfinn gets all the way down, but as he approaches 3 large rats crawl out in front of him.

The first moment he can, Ulflinn will load his crossbow and shoot the middle rat while saying, "Looks like we need to do a little pest control!"

Miles is going to wing one of his hammers at the Northrern most rat, and then his second hammer at the Southern most rat.

Silvis peers down into the gorge and sees his comrades begin combat with the rats. He, on the other hand, stays up top, gaging the strength of this opponents and seeing if there are any other threats.

Miles' hammers fly at the rats, but the first hits the ground to the side of the rat, and the second falls barely short.

The south east rat moves about five feet and attacks Miles.

Silvis can just barely see the bottom, but sees the rats as just specs. He can here nor see any other threat besides them.

The southern-most rat then bites at Ulfinn.

Torgan then begins his ascent down the rope, making it about halfway down, with Risqar just behind him. (2 rounds to go down the rope).

The North rat then bites at Miles.

As Ulfinn shoots the two rats bite at him, but one is hit by his crossbow after the attack and it seems wounded.

Torgan continues to hurry down the rope, not iking the noises he's hearing from below. "Hold on, almost there!"

Oh, if Torgan has a standard action after getting to the bottom, he uses it to draw his shield and axe (as move-equivalent - they won't be free actions until level 2), and moves five feet away from the rope to allow Risqar to get on his feet.

Reaching into his cloak, Miles comes out with another three hammers, swinging \ at one of the rats beside him.

Ulflinn drops his crossbow (he can grab it again later...), pulls out his staff, and hits the rat that he shot earlier with it.

Miles quickly swings his hammer out, taking out on of the rats with a great blow, but another rat is quick to jump up and bite him, while another attacks Ulfinn.

Torgan moves down the rope, with Risqar right behind him, hitting the ground he pulls out his weapon. Risqar quickly moves up to one rat, but misses. Ulfinn then swings and takes out another rat. Only one remains.

Miles is going two twirl the two hammers in his hand before lashing out at the remaining rat with those two, plus the one clutched in his tail
