Hmm. Good thing you mentioned that as I was thinking about jumping in there. You know ... wake up in a cell, bust out, kill a bunch of grunts, and then go look for my sword. Oh well, I'll think of something else.

BTW, where is Keris's group breaking out of? I've read the archives from FFF-970 on and am working on the post archive stuff, but apparently, they got captured sometime before that. I'm not gonna join if it'll disturb his plot, but I'd still kinda like to know what's going on.

Now about the three big plots. From the wiki I've managed to get the gist of the Threeshades plotline. (It's basically a big fetch quest, but of world shattering import, of course.)

As for Vert Doom, I've gathered that he's a powerful and malignant being who has his own plane (where he's a deity). I've also gathered that he destroys planets for the fun of it and has his sightes set on Avbaroy. Does J. Random Adventurer (i.e. Xver before joining the plot) even know he exists?

Finally, we have the Sovics, which are the classic SF nanotech grey goo senario, with some twists. So, any plot threads I'm missing? Any details that aren't on the wiki I really ought to know?

So it looks like I'm gonna end up on Alphantica. (I originally though it was Alphabetica and somehow related to the Alphabet Clerics. What's up with those guys anyway?) Is there more detail availible on the geography of the island? With the idea I've got worked up, I'm gonna end up washing up on shore (half dead and freezing to death).

How far from the action will that put me? Where's the fortress or whatever it is that everyone's gathered at located? (And what's it called, BTW?) Is anyone on Alphantica in the same spot, or is there an outlying group I can run into first?

Finally (I know, this is getting stupidly long, I appologize), has anyone assembled a group pic with names? I can get plenty of images from the archives and whatnot, and some (but not all of the characters on the wiki have pics). I've managed to figure out who a lot of people are, but some of them I have no idea who's who.

Also, I believe that this "epic battle" is being forced. I have written many stories in my day, and I have learned the hard way that you can't force an epic battle. They have to come naturally.
