Heh, I'm well prepared against that now that I save after I've drawn each single panel.

Now I just laugh when Inkscape crashes. It can't foil my plans!

I know flash wouldn't do such a horrible thing to me.
Nonetheless, I've backed up all my .fla files on a dvd.

Save frequently. If your cpu shows the first signs of lag, save. The larger the file, the quicker it will crash.

I would also recommend making a backup copy regularly, but that's all just good computer sense.

Could happen to any program using high-grade graphics on your everyday computer

Maybe InkScape is like airplanes.

It doesn't crash that often, but everyone is so shocked and horrified when it actually does they talk about it endlessly and exaggerate

If that's quite so true as be the case, more's the like you've got a RAM or processor issue such as can't handle the program itself.

Recommend you reboot the unit right and proper so's the issue probably solve itself.

EDIT: Apologies, I got the Firefly complete series DVD recently...

Fireworks has never crashed on me, never faild me, and never lost any of my work.
