Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
Ooooh! I like this thread, I missed posting in Random Banter over the past few months.
Tomorrow's my last day! Today I had to give an "interpretive hike" presentation in front of my entire Field Natural History class; I didn't mess it up too badly . Tomorrow, I have to present an entire semester's worth of writing to my entire Creative Writing class. Fun times, fun times.
That's why we PM him.
Then, if he doesn't make the new thread, we should go on a RB strike until he does. I kid, I kid. We wouldn't want to miss random banter for even a day.

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
On the subject of kitties, a couple of days ago I rescued yet another stray. I reckon she's about 7 weeks old and she's pure fluffy white with blue eyes. She'd climbed up underneath and then inside the engine of my neighbour's Volkswagen Santana and was mewing pitifully inside. There was no way I could leave here there because, well, it was hideously dangerous (and potentially messy). So I spent an hour lying on my back in the street with a torch (that's a 'flashlight' in American) in one hand and globs of kitten food in the other. I left splodges of kitten food over various accesible bits of the engine (apologies to my neighbour, but it's probably better than leaving a live kitten there) and eventually managed to tempt her out far enough to grab her. She's sleeping on my lap now as I type this, but we are trying to find a place to re-home her cos I already have far too many cats.

Today was Hug a Musician Day. I received a 2000% increase in hugs compared to other days, thanks to playing in a band.

OK, so I was surfing YouTube, and I thought of a really crazy idea to search for. Afterwards, I thought "No, of course not. It can't exist...."
Silly me. This is the Internet EVERYTHING exists.

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
Did it look like this? Because if so...Serpentine was right, it's a bullant (or bulldog ant, I think may be the correct version nobody uses. Mind you, there are 90 different types or so...almost all are only found in Australia [there's like, one type in New Caledonia...where is that place anyway?])
Is this your ant (warning, if you have a thing about big bugs, you mightn't like the picture...thou hast been warned.)?

Mine was black, not red. Aside from that I can't give details as I squished it before I really examined the thing. I think it was one of these.

Well, if that was indeed his(her?) name (which I doubt) then he wouldn't have to actually live in Lichtenstein right now. Just as long as some male-line ancestor of his was the lord or duke or whatever of Lichtenstein, the name stays.

On another note, my condition has been downgraded to pneumonia.
Which means I'm going to miss my girlfriends music recital, a friend-girls first day at school after her house was gutted by fire, and get lots of antibiotics pumped into me.

Okay, now my world has been turned upside down, then right away up, then upside down, then right again, and then at just such an angle that stuff will slide off the table but I won't know why.
Apparantly Dexter Holland, lead singer of the Offspring turned down a Ph.D in molecular biology to focus on his band.

The Ph.D. program isn't going anywhere. Fame will dissipate. Did not someone from Queen just complete a doctorate after a thirty-year hiatus?
