The third floor corridor is marbled in the same fashion as the reception hall. In here, however, some kind of sprayed-on wallpaper covers the metallic undersurface. Grilled lanterns, built in the gothic fashion, contain high-strength glowglobes that streak light across the hallway. Your room isn't one of the first four rooms in the corridor, so you proceed past the arch leading to the floor's sitting room.

Inside a large, dark-skinned man sits cross-legged on one of several comfortable chairs surrounding a low-slung, stone table with a half-sphere base. The man sits in meditative repose, and has daubed his skin with highly complex spiralling aquilla patterns in blue dye. On the table there is a tall, slender package wrapped in greasy leather. The name "GESCHER" is stamped onto this in black ink.

At the right end of the room a group of comfortable chairs and couches is clustered around a viewing screen. On the left there is a traditional, hand-carved dining table and chair. Plants clamber up the walls of the room at fixed intervals. The leaves are a hard, spiky and purple. They shine and reflect the powerful lights overhead.

A man peers into the room from the connection archway to the hall. Chain armour hangs off his huge frame, and he carries many weapons. From the numerous trinkets and insignia he bears, it's obvious that he's a man of the clergy. He doesn't bear the sickly complexion of many Hivers you've seen outside, but has some unplaceable similarity to them makes your nose wrinkle.

The towering psyker stands and signs the aquilla. "It is good to see that my lord has brought a man of the Faith to this world to assist us in our mission. I am Kondolo Ubangi, a shaman, or "psyker", although I find that term holds a certain stigma among the faithful."

The big feral holds forth a large hand to the new comer, the palm covered in a greasy light blue paint.

"Greetings, let this be a strong partnering for His work!" Ubangi beams as he speaks, oblivious to any peculiarities in his manner.

Urskarl Prostor


Urskarl signs the Aquila as well and regards the large dark skinned man for a moment before smiling, his smile, while almost patronising, is warm and friendly, he reaches out and grasps Kondolo's hand to shake it. Faith is the only true path to the Emperor, and He in his beneficence, has passed to me the gift of His word. I am Urskarl Prostor. It is good to meet another who does the Emperors work, your... talents, will no doubt be useful. Urskarls voice is thick with his Grimmus III (Nordic) accent. For some reason the presence of the Psyker sets his guts to churning, but he doesn't know why, outside the obvious, but he'd never been too caught up about hating psykers, having met a few before, and he did his best to hide it.

"Aha, well met then Urskarl, He gives us each unique gifts, that we might spread His glory. I don't suppose you would know who this "GESCHER" person is, perhaps one of our companions, or our contact?"

ooc: if Ubangi seems a little to normal for a psyker, it's only because he's not really powerful enough to be crazy yet , as for an accent, think Mr. Eko as an Indian mystic as opposed to cocaine dealing warlord/priest

Urskarls brow knots for a moment as he thinks, then he smiles again and speaks Unfortunately I do not know of this "Gescher", why do you ask?

Ubangi waves a hand towards the grubby looking package that occupies the table and raises an inquiring eyebrow.

Urskarl glanced over in that direction for the first time, and raised his eyebrow. I see, perhaps another of our group sent it ahead, or left it here and went out. I take it you haven't opened it... I honestly don't know, we'll just have to wait and find out I suppose.

"Hmm, agreed, we will wait for the rest of our party then. In the mean time..." Ubangi pauses to ruffle through his rucksack in the table, withdrawing a worn vellum tarot deck. "What say you to a game of Sabbat's Cross?"

Urskarl arches his eyebrow, and smiles warmly, his demeanor one of an old friend, though he'd barely known this man for a minute. I can't say I've ever played, what does the game entail?

"It is a simple game, one I learned from the crew of the freighter that conveyed me here as a matter of fact. It is perhaps crude, but a good way to pace the time." He lays out two cards face down pushing one pair across the table towards Urskarl, and then lays out five more cards in a simple cross pattern.
"One bets that his hand is superior to the other players, and picks a direction of the cross. For example, I will say south..." He flips three of the cards in the cross, from the south tip to the north. "Two staves and three pentacles, you see? A good hand, it is called a "loaded hive"." He lays the three cards back face down.

"Now here is the fun part, as I say, we wager, he who wagers highest before the turn decides his direction last, giving him the best idea of what lies in the cross." Ubangi fishes around in his bag again and pulls out a smaller pouch with a drawstring. He opens the smaller bag and empties a number of uniform stones marked with various non-nonsensical symbols. "I once used these to amuse children with simple tricks, but they will serve as our currency until you have learned the game." Ubangi smiles, collects the cards, and deals again.

Urskarl shrugs and sits down. It can't hurt I suppose.

Sighing with defeat, Vex walks out of the shadows and approaches the other men. "Depends on why you two are here? Business?" Vex asks his hand ready to grab his pistol at anytime.

Urskarl eyes the newcomer suspciously, his hand also close to his weapon. No, were just playing cards because were waiting to kill you He jokes, judging the newcomers intent.

"Oh well thats good, I haven't killed enough people today." Vex sighs hand creeping ever closer to his pistol.

Ubangi reaches for no weapon, but his mind is a taught spring, if the new comer makes a wrong move he'll be on the floor writhing in psychic pain. "His business?" he asks pointedly.

His eyes shifting to the other figure, Vex is slightly surprised. "Aye, His business. And yourselves?"

Urskarl raises his holy symbol in one hand I do the Emperors work. His will is my command.

Sighing, Vex rolls his eyes. "Yes yes, we all do the Emperor's work in our own way, but what way do you do his work?"

Urskarl snorts loudly you must be daft. Look at me with your eyes you fool. I'm a priest. I do his work, and spread his word.

"So Mr. Holy Man, what brings you here?" Vex asks casually.

Why do you get to ask the questions? You were the one sneaking in. What are you doing here?

"As I said, we all do His work in our own way. I'm here to perform his work. Satisfied?"

So I have to be all specific, but you get to just say "I do the Emperors work in my own way"?

Sighing, Vex moves his hand away from his pistol and holds both of them up as a sigh of resignation. "Fine. I'm here to investigate the quarantine of this refinery."

"One who hides in shadow and is deflective about his true nature, I've met his like friend Urskarl. He is an Assassin." Ubangi spits the word from his mouth with such vehemence one half expects the see it splattered on the floor. "They are the knives in the back, the shots in the night. They are a reminder that even the Inquisition must resort to those without Honor to do its work. I assume that perhaps a subtle knife may be what we need, I concede to our master's wisdom. Although I don't like it."
