Shaking off the hit, Mason pumps his shotgun, trying to line up a second shot. Firing, he prays to whatever gods look out for him his next shot hits. His shot misses, even at this range, and he realizes his left arm was hit and is almost useless. Stumbling off a little, he prays his friends kill the thing before it finishes him off.

Normally I would let you slide on rolling a 13 or 14 (AC 16) due to the fact that you're at point blank range, but I think a +8 bonus is a little overkill.

Right, seeing as I should have thrown the grenade already, and it would have been off to the left, Ithil will move forward and a little to the right as far as he can and still be able to shoot at the zergling attacking Mason.

Erm.... so which square are you throwing it at? Can you say something like:

"three sqares up and one to the right of emily"

Just so I can see where this is going...

You know what, seeing as Mason just backed away from the zergling right in the middle of our group, and the grenades I'm using are only 5ft radius, I can throw it at the square directly to it's right and reasonably expect it to take the damage from my grenade. ((That was 15 damage and an attack roll of 23 btw, meaning it landed in the right spot))
