I take it that bat is traveling up the Z line, correct? I also assume that since you did not specify an elevation in the that the bat is travelling at ground level.
What does the bat do if it finds Chile early?

I figured he would take to the air as he went there. flying straight to Z1. as in a straight line from the summoned position H8
he will go to Z1, and next round charge/attack chile.

Can you summon a monster in mid-air? And if so, did he (I know you can't tell me that)?
Unless he summoned above the elevation of the houses, the bat can't be where it is (by my figures). SMx has a range of 25+5/2lvls. He's casting from a scroll so 35'. For the bat to make it to Z1 (w/o elevation, no buildings) that's minimum of 100', so it has to be running (not a double move). You have to run in a straight line. That means it has to be at 20' elevation by the time it's path intersects the first house. It has to continue gaining altitude after that or it's not a straight line. So, I'd do the math, but I can't know where it was summoned. Here's how I figure it out (had to do it in a couple matches).
When you trace it's path from origin to Z1, you get the diagonal of a rectangle. On the long side, it counts as 5' of movement per square, the short side is 5' per 2 squares. Bats have good maneuverability so it cost 5' of movement to climb 5'. However far it's traveled when it gets to a building will give you the ratio to figure it's final elevation. I'll give an example.
Let's say it was summoned in I9.
The white rectangle is it's horizontal movement. 85x40. 85+(1/2 * 40)=105'
The blue is how far it's moved by the time is 20' up. 30'
Bust out some Algebra 101. (105/30)=(x/20) | x=70
So the bat would have to travel 70' up total, to 'run' to Z1.
Now we have a new problem, that's 175' of movement total. Bats fly at 40', so a run is max 160'.
So for every 175' distance traveled, it gets 105' horizontally viewed.
(175/105)=(160/x) | x=96
So 95' viewed horizontally gets it to x2 and puts him 65' up.
I believe, if the line of horizontal travel misses the center building, the bat can make it to Z1 but I'll still need to know the elevation. Otherwise, I don't think the bat can make it. I'm willing to crunch the numbers, but that means I'd know where the bat was summoned (not a big deal) and where it ends up (that part's the problem).<--- Avatar made by bayar

bats have blindsense, there for sight is irrelevant, so you are telling me, that from the z line he has ran far enough away w/o the bat seeing him, that he is out of the bat's echolocation?
not to mention the spider has tremorsense, which means anyone w/in 60ft, once again sight is irrelevant, he knows there location if they are touching the ground... so once again not only has be moved farther than 60ft from that starting location w/o the bat seeing it, but he isn't touching the group if he is w/in the 60ft..???

well how would you like to handle my bat attacking, w/o knowing the situation in combat i can't apply the correct modifiers to the attack.
in my last match, even if i could not see where my opponent was, my pets could and therefor i knew his location to complete there actions.
the only reason this matters is for situations such as charging, and flanking and the like. which i believe both would hopefully apply.
Resolve as you see fit.
The bat attacks chile, i would like the bat to be on the ground or w/in 2-3 feet on the ground, so chile couldn't go under him.
concealment (50%) (1d100)[11] 51-100 will hit
attack (1d20+5)[16] +2 more if flanking, +2 more if charge
damage (1d8+4)[12]
once the ref resolves this action, it is your go.

SpoilerAlright, since not otherwise stated, I'll assume the bat is in Z2. Run to A1. That takes me out of the echolocation and the tremorsense of the spider. Hopefully I'll be able to see Fannir as well. Don't forget I'm invisible, the bat doesn't threaten since I have total concealment and Fannir won't see me.
