Well that explains a few things. The attacks will stop if you can find a better food source for me. That I will promise. If you can locate me a new and better food source I can move my domain and rebuild if I need to.

If you are going to get the foodlings to submit to your god, you will have a bigger problem with their dark ones than you will with me. They are strong in their faith and drive the others with the lash.


In the water a huge splash followed by another set of smaller splashes comes through into the depths.

You friend has fallen. The Harbringer comes, show to me that you are truly willing to do as you say and I will work with you. The Greater Aboleth turns and begins to swim back toward his city, the skum and his spawn swim around him in a protective circle. The cloud of mucus left behind hangs in the water, slowly thinning.

Celeste frowns. "Fallen? Him? That's not possible..." A flash of worry is quickly replaces by grim determination. "We will take care of the Harbringer for you. Do not worry."

She tries to mentally reach out to all of her allies, seeing if she can feel Excalith's presence.

There is no response from Excalith, nothing there to contact.

Celeste tries to estimate about how long it might take for the Harbringer to get here, and to judge whether this is a good place to fight.

Without knowing what the Harbringer is, probably ten minutes. As for a good plae to fight ???, what do you consider good? This is a murky, dark and watery place.

Dark and murky is not something Celeste likes as she posseses no special ability to see in the dark, unfortunately. She thinks to the others, "Let's try to meet the Harbringer near the surface, and perhaps even lure it back onto land."

Zariel pondered slowly, tapping his chin in a thoughtful manner. A better food source, you say. So, what sort of sustenance do you find most toothsome?

"I woulden't know what such beasts find palletable to their foul tongue." Sophiel remarked to herself with a smirk before swimming up to the beachhead and taking her angelic form again, plunking her glaive blade-first into the ground.

Swimming and teleporting your way up you all see the thing first. You all recognize the Harbringer for what it is, a Horned Devil. Deeply branded into its chest is an outline of the holy symbol of Kurtlmak.

Intent on swimming, it does not notice you. (Rolled a 1 on its spot check, go figure ) Yet.

ooc - do I need to roll Knowledge (the planes) to identify this Horned Devil's traits? I've a +15 bonus on the check.

Having gotten the jump on the opposition, Celeste considers how to best defeat the Horned one. The beautiful demon uses one of more potent Spell-like abilities to hide herself from sight (SLA: Greater Invisibility). If she is still undetected, she'll chant a quick incantation (swift action: Assay Spell Resistance) to help get pass the probable Spell Resistance this devil has before she starts trying to delay the monster with an extreme amount of PAIN! (Wrack SLA. DC 29 Fort or be blind and helpless for 9 rounds and then be shaken for (3d10)[28] minutes.

The twitching and writhing Horned Demon is quickly killed by thse of you that survive.

Sophiel, having been devastated by the fiends savage attacks feels her soul slip away, passing the planar barriers. Her body quickly decomposes into sparkling motes which twinkle and fade. Nothing more than dust in the water.

The devil cursed in Infernal as he watched Sophiel's body dissipate. But it was really no more than a minor inconvenience... still, irritating. I suggest we use this as leverage with the Aboleth... we took care of a threat to it, and they are orderly creatures. Surely it will see a debt is owed. And if not, we will ensure that it sees thus.

Celeste stops to offer a quick prayer to Trual. "Oh benevolent master, please reform Sophiel with expedience so that she may continue to help spread your glory." Looking at Waetir and Zariel, she agrees, "Yes, we should take the corpse of this demon to the Aboleth...and then afterwards maybe show it to the Kobold Elders. That'll teach them not to mess with the power of Trual!"

Speaking of the corpse, it is rapidly sinking into the dark waters of the Undersea.

If nothing else, Celeste will swim and carry the body along, if she can do it on her own. In water, it shouldbe easier than on land.

Celeste swims down and grabs the sinking body by its ankle, it is heavier than it looks even in the water. She swims back up to the others, with the prickling sensation of being watched.
