Reid goggles briefly as Dothen sets himself up as a target.

His bravery should be honoured in kind. Go!

    Anu
Glancing at the stone-carrying hounds and guessing what will come next, Anura draws out a silvered dagger from her haversack, then casts a spell and swells to enormous size, looming over Hist, Kjapp and Grazys. Her skin turning green and her hair growing thick and ropey, though oddly her dress and equipment swell to match her new size. Mentally she calls forth the power of stone over her now-tougher skin.

    Spoiler
    Show
Anura now has a 10ft. reach. If any hounds get inside the circle and do anything to provoke an AoO from her, she'll take it, attacking with the silvered dagger.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I think her reach actually extends into the squares beyond the circle (if the circle is centered on her, she occupies a 10ft square, then has 10ft. reach).

Kjapp's three arrows plink of the stone near one of the hounds.

    >>>>>Init 6 (G6)

With a crash, you hear stone from the temple crumble and a howl of triumph.

The other two hounds delay their action, joining the G1 initiative.

    <<<<<End Round 8>>>>>

    >>>>>Init 25(G1)

    Anura:
    Spoiler
    Show
You see the spirits turn from watching the battle, and look oddly at the temple entrance.

The three hounds lift the rock into the air, one of them drawing Reid's attack as it floats by with the rock. The rapier slices into one of the hounds, but it ignores Reid as they continue to move the rock, hovering some forty feet over Anura's circle, more specifically over Hist and a portion of Anura's enlarged form.

Howling, they let the wall go and it plummets down, hundreds of pounds dropping onto the warlock and mage.

    Spoiler
    Show
The rock fills a 1x2 square block. It's being dropped in AM26/AN26, thereby targeting Hist and Anura. It weighs approximately 1200 lbs, and if I recall the hulking hurler correctly, each 100 lbs is 1d6 worth of damage.

So Anura and Hist both take (12d6)[48] damage. Anura has a reflex for half, DC 15, because she has other squares to reflex into, and also the stone is only eight feet long, so it doesn't completely fill the square it's being dropped into. The stone fills Hist's square completely, so he has no where to dodge to.

The stone hits both Hist and Anura and crumbles into dozens of smaller pieces.

Dothen sees the dropping stones and winces as it hits. Rescue time for me! He rolls and flips over the rubble to Hist and Anura, sheathing his cleaver as he goes. Oi! My pancaked pals! Time ta not die! He reaches and slaps Hist Hey crazy! Trolls make poor un-brellas! Pale blue light fills Hist and he feels some of the wounds close.

The transformed Anura staggers under the awesome weight dropped upon her, failing to do much to shield Hist, but manages to keep her feet.

"Time to make for the temple?" she says again through gritted teeth, blood pouring from her head, neck and shoulders. "The wolves are howling at the door. Or are now through the door, probably."

The troll-Anura lets the silvered dagger drop to her feet, retrieves another flask from her haversack with her now free hand (claw?) and downs it, intent on keeping herself alive.

    Hist

Hist slowly staggers to his feet. The stone's hit him badly, and the sheer force lef this breastplate useless. There's blood coming from underneeth his torn clothes. His cloak is barely hanging to them, a shard of rock cut deep, just missing the neck, and knocking a clasp off.

He's blood drenched, even after Dothen healed him. But he's still standing. Just about.

    Thanks Dotehn. I owe you

Reid, you go on ahead on that thing. Defend the civilians. We'll follow, as best we can.

    Reid

Reid calls on one of his most powerful prayers, spreading Pelor's healing to all six of them.

I believe it would be better for the rest of you to lead the way, since most of them will still find it difficult to attack me.

Reid sends the fly spiralling up, ready to intercept the hounds should they choose to start diving back towards the temple.

Positioning himself to be about 40' up, and directly between the rock-dropping hounds and the temple. In the unlikely event that the one that he previously struck goes past him, Reid will try for an attack of opportunity.

Anura retrieves and drinks her potion, and what few wounds are visible under the blood do begin to close.

(OOC-Yeehaw! Time for some fun! Wow I spent too much time in Texas.)

    Dothen

Dothen looks around with a wily glint in his eye. Time to tame me a puppy! Leaping and twisting he launches himself at the back of one of the hounds. Leaping through into the snapping jaws and landing square on its back, digging in with his butcher knife and holding his dagger in hand. BAD DOG! Sit! Stay! Oh! Crap!

Well. Perhaps that will get their attention.

Dothen's right arm is caught in the jaws of the hound, even as he swings the rest of his body around the hounds next, digging into the hound with the cleaver.

Dothen hears, and feels reverberating through his arm, a deep, gutteral almost laughing howl as the teeth of the immensely strong hound bites through the flesh of his arm, severing the arm of Dothen off above the elbow.

Dothen has two rounds until bleed out. Shock and adrenaline means no damage from this attack, although the dagger and arm with the dagger is gone.

Any magical healing will seal the stump and stop bleed out, but will cause half of max HP in subdual damage.

At the beginning of the hounds second round, bleed out happens and causes instant death.

The hound nearest Reid attacks and manages to bypass his ward, since it was one of the flamestruck hounds.

The other hound rises into the air and goes after Reid, but doesn't attack this round.

Reid's healing magics come in the nick of time, and Dothen can feel the stump of his arm stop bleeding and the skin harden over as the magics weave over the rest of the group as well and heal them.

As he guides the fly towards the temple, the hound snaps at him in an attack of opportunity but misses.
