    Anura moves up and uses her magics to strike at the large hound, scorching it with both rays, although the first one was only a near hit. Large burns run through it's back, and it howls.

    Dothen, turning for his bow sees Grazys' body doing something very odd, and moves outside of Anura's protective circle to tie the body up.

    Double move to get back to the body, you'll tie it up next round, so you're out next round.


    Hist stays prone on the ground and attempts to channel his black fires, only for the hound to howl in his face, startling him into loosing his concentration on the magics.

    Kjapp steps up behind Hist and notches two arrows at once, but is also startled at the hound's baying and looses the arrows before aiming. They slide right past the hound, brushing Anura's hair, only to land in the back of the moving Dothen.

    Outside of precision range, dothen has cold resistance 5. Dothen takes 20 points of damage.


    The large hound that Anura burned howls again, and charges at her, passing right by Hist. Anura can see death approaching, only to blink in surprise as the hound still bounces off her circle. She realizes that as long as she doesn't push the circle against the creature, she should be okay to attack it at ranged.

    The other hound bends down to take a bite out of Hist once more.

    The warlock saw his chance as the hound rushed past him, raising his burning staff in an attempt to intercept. It was then that the hound bit into him

    Argh. I need to get out of here. Perhaps a simpler....

    With a few different movements, Hist concentrates on working a simpler trick. Before too long, a second Hist appears, next to Anura. He slowly stands up, then dusts himself off, and looks at Anura with a smile.

    Anura blinks, obviously a bit surprised to find the magic circle can still keep the attacked hound at bay, but quickly regains her composure.

    "Kjapp, come to me here!"

    As Hist appears next to her, she gestures towards the distant bobbing ball of light that is Reid, and then towards one of the streets leading to the temple square (one no more than 35ft. wide, and preferably fairly straight).

    "I want you to go tell Reid that he needs to bring the remaining hounds down that street, towards us, flying as low as he can manage. I'll trap them there with a web and we can finish them off safely."

    Anura concentrates and calls back a 'lesser orb of acid' to her mind via her first pearl of power.

    As Hist disappears and reappears standing inside the circle with Anura, she quickly relays what she needs done.

    ((Moving for Kjapp)) Seeing as he is the closest person to the two hounds that isn't inside Anura's circle, Kjapp shows some of his speed by sprinting around the smaller hound and entering the circle as well.

    Dothen begins tying the body up, only to startle as the head of the corpse snaps around, skin sealing into a deep scar on his neck as the wound heals. Even as he continues tying up the body, a red circle forms around the body, the edges of the circle looking more like flames than the edge of a true circle. Inside the circle, a shape begins to take form in the dirt, with the body of Grazys at the center.

    Both large and medium hound jump the left behind image of the fallen Hist, and Hist is hard pressed to watch his own after image being torn to shreds by the hounds.

    They loudly howl once more at the death of the image.

    Hist quickly casts a bolt of his own at the hound Anura had blasted, before quickly turning back to her.

    Two main problems. One, I can't fly at the speed of Reid or the Hounds. I could use invisibility, but before... they sniffed us out. I'm not sure if it'll work.

    That's not good, but I can work round that. Somehow. But... well, there are a lot of hounds. If we don't catch them, we'll bring them down on our heads. And there's only one little defensive bubble

    You sure you can do it?


    He's not dismissive, simply trying to gauge how certain Anura is here.

    As Hist goes on…and on…and seems ready to go on further, Anura finally throws up her hands in disgust.

    “Ghaaah! Never mind! I’ll do it myself.”

    She casts her newly-recovered spell at the large hound (or at the smaller one if the large one is already down), then unbuckles her bundled tent and bedroll from the top of her haversack and lets them drop to the street (move action).

    Reid and Anura's blast catch the attention of the hounds, who charge the circle once more, only to bounce off of it yet again. They don't seem to have noticed Dothen and Grazys' body but...

    Reid swoops down to nearly be touching the roofs of some of the buildings, and is at eye level to see something he'd really rather not...

    As Dothen attempts to cross the border of the circle, the symbol coming up from the ground reveals itself to be a skull.

    The skull opens it's mouth, and a literal gout of flame shoots straight up into the air, superheating the air and Dothen finds himself being flung away from the circle at a high speed. His body slams against the gate wall of the temple, slumping down.

    Grazys own body is caught up in the pillar of flame, the pure flame of energy. A scream emanates from the throat of the dead body, before the flames die away. Grazys' body lands, and the circle and skull are both gone.

    Grazys body seems to be drawing breath though...

    As you slam against the wall, your body slumps down, but you stay standing...

    Oh yeah. It's night, and it's in town. You've just slipped into the spirit land. Around you, there are six spirits close by, watching the fight. At the door to the temple, there are eight spirits of guards, guarding the temple. You can't find any true shadows to hide in here, either.

    The rebuke at Anura died on Hist's lips as the fire of Wee Jas scorches the night, and Dothen's body is thrown to the temple gates. He is silent, just for a moment. Then he laughs, if slightly bitterly.

    Why not? Death's her area, no?

    After a hasty, far smaller blast of flame from him, he runs straight out of the circle, towards Grazys, bending down and looking him in the eyes.

    Struggling to a sitting position, Grazys looks around him. His throat seems dry beyond the ability of one who could still be alive, but aside from that and a little stiffness, he seemed fine. Locking eyes with Hist, his lop-sided grin erupts. "Hist! What the-" he then sees the others nearby. "Dothen!" the binder cries out as he notices the limp form of the tiefling. Grazys rises a little unsteadily and looks around for his rapier and shield.

    Though as amazed as the others to see Grazys start to stir, Anura blinks in disbelief as Hist again flies off, this time followed by Kjapp. Baring her teeth, she turns back to the deadly hounds and fires off a blast of magic missiles before they can close with her gaggle of unconscious, recently dead, and tactically challenged companions.

    Anura rises up into the air (fly 50ft. (avg), double move), scanning the skyline for where she last saw the bobbing orb of light, and moves to intercept.

    "Last one is yours! Hist knows the plan! Be ready!" she shouts to the others.

    OOC1: Anura is back down to light encumbrance, so she has a base fly speed of 40 with 'overland flight' and a +10 enhancement bonus from 'heart of air.'

    OOC2: Not sure of the distances involved, but Anura is seeking to get to a position that will put her within ~180ft. of Reid with line-of-effect for one round (preferably well ahead of him) (EDIT: and without drawing the hounds' attention if she can help it). All she wants to do is be able to cast a quickened 1-round 'message' spell and exchange a short message.

    If I'm correct in thinking that Reid has dropped down into the 'trenches' of the streets and so is now constrained in his movements, then she will try to predict his turns and get ahead of him in order to pull this off.

    Hist's last, hurried blast destroying the final large hound and it falls heavily, bursting into blood as has become normal for them. Anura then lifts off, her spell having gone unused.

    Hist's words to Kjapp fall on deaf ears, as Dothen was blown a good distance from where Grazys currently is.

    Dothen appears unconscious, and probably has a head injury from the high speed impact on the hard stone. Oddly enough though, the scorching appears to be nothing worse than a very, very horrible sunburn.


    It will take Anura a moment, but she can get into Reid's path for when he passes at least somewhat close to the temple next.
