Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerDo not swear by heaven nor by earth, but let your yes be your yes, and your no be your no.
-Somewhere in the Bible
I trust you, don't worry. Anyway, this makes it Sikkun's turn. Sorry for taking up so much time, AlterForm.
I'm also sending each of you a message with all of our character sheets, for easy reference. I'm keeping it in another tab so I can check in on my HP, etc.
EDIT
SpoilerOOH! Forgot to mention that the dagger I pull out of my sash in the "battle start!" post is a defending dagger (you can see that in my char sheet) and I've been using its full enhancement bonus to my AC.Last edited by Eighth_Seraph; 2008-07-25 at 06:10 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
"Ugh..."
Sikkun took a deep breath, flipped himself onto his feet, and swirled the cloud of mist he summoned into a flurry of ice.
Spoiler
Move Action: Stand from prone
Standard Action: Blizzard(Snow). DC 31, take 10 for 32. (25 base + 10 non-visual bending - 4 focused bending(blizzard))
The entire battlefield is now covered in snow (-4 on Spot and Search checks, -4 to ranged attacks, requires 2 squares of movement to enter a snow covered square)
I'm assuming the Blizzard seed "used up" the moisture created by the mist seed.
End turn.

Yes. Since the Blizzard used up the moisture produced by the mist, the battlefield is now visible, but snowy.

AoO Provoked
SpoilerYou saw it yourself, the defensive bending failed. Here goes my attack, a leg strike with a full Power Attack.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerYou missed me finnaly! Anyway i'm using it to push you to the side it's coming at you from the south eastern side of your square thus hopefully knocking you over the bridge, and into the water would this require a bending check to make it bull rush you also my move a rock is quickened since it only needs to move 5 feet, but the extra energy so can we say it went into speed, and size XD?Last edited by Fan; 2008-07-25 at 06:50 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
Spoiler
Judging by the other instances of bull rushing via bending in the rules, it's going to be Turak's Wisdom roll opposed by Rialu's Strength roll. Included in the quickened Move a Rock, as well, since the bull rush is part of the bending form.
Nevermind, Earth Wall apparently has the relevent rules.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerI get a Reflex Save against being pushed. Here's the quote from the Earth Wall seed.
Spoiler• Push: An earthbender can push an existing wall of earth or stone to knock opponents back as a move action. The earthbender pushes the wall back 20 ft in a straight line, plus another 5 ft for every 4 points by which the Earthbending check exceeds the DC. Any opponent caught behind the wall must make a Reflex save or be carried with the wall. The DC for this save increases by +5 for every 5 feet away from the nearest gap to the wall. A successful Reflex save means the creature is able to avoid the wall and jump to the nearest unoccupied square, provoking attacks of opportunity while doing so.
Reflex Save - (1d20+12)[32]
Ooh. Natural 20. I definitely make the save, but I have to move out of the way to do so. You made no mention of what kind of wall you're making, so I'll assume a standard 5-foot square. I move from K12 to K13. My turn?Last edited by Eighth_Seraph; 2008-07-25 at 06:47 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerIt can do that. But you didn't say it did. Alright, it's a 15-foot wide wall, and I'm not diving into the water to avoid it. You bull rush me how far, then? A 15-foot wall is DC 25, so you can bull rush me up to 35 feet away.Last edited by Eighth_Seraph; 2008-07-25 at 06:58 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerWell I'm going to have it bull rush you into the water by ramming you through the side railing I'm gonna fluff it out side of this spoiler but yeah your gonna be in the water. How far up is the bridge because since their is no wall he cant slow fall it, and he's gonna be pretty far up river so he'll take falling damage from the distance launched as well.
The mighty earthwall smashed into the mighty monk who although nimble, and swift found himself unable to dodge the earth wall that tore through the side railings as it went hitting him with an audible "wham!" sending the monk catapulting down river landing in a soaking heap about 35 feet down river.
SpoilerWith my remaining move action I'm going to move 15 feet towards the water bender.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerAlright then. It's my turn anyway. Just to be sure, what square are you at, Fanboy?
DC 10 to move through calm water at one-quarter my speed (15 feet) brings me to L5 (my swim modifier is +13, so I don't even need to roll), with two thirds of my movement left (40 feet thanks to my 60 ft. base land speed) I use it all to move around the huge boulder and to Q6. I still have a standard action left, but neither of you can see me around the boulder at P7 and P8. My action is below, but DON'T LOOK AT IT.
SpoilerI take a standard action to drink one of my chi-enhancing teas

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
READ THE SPOILER EIGHT SERAPH. (not shouting.)
SpoilerYou forgot the half movement blizzard each square with you being in the water is one quater of your speed with each move counting as two sqaures. So you would'nt be able to reach your move as your 15 feet turns into 30 feet, and your 40 feet turns into 80 feet.Last edited by Fan; 2008-07-25 at 07:30 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
"I'll be back, just you wait and see..."
Sikkun swirls mist into the air once again, shrouding the arena in another cloud of fog.
"...Or maybe not. Heh heh heh..."
Spoiler
Standard: Mist, just like the first round, this time centered on the southeast corner of M9.
Move: Move to R13.
The battlefield is still snowy, but is now misty again. We all lose LoS to each other.

SpoilerErg. You're both right. I can't go to Q6, so instead I go to N4 and take the aforementioned standard action. My bad.
Also, another mist?! You really should've taken Feel the Flow, AlterForm.Last edited by Eighth_Seraph; 2008-07-25 at 07:35 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerYeah, Feel the Flow really would've been nice here. Although as written I think I'd have to combine it into a form, since the only default options are River Sense (moving bodies of water) and Lake Sense (stationary bodies of water), neither of which seem to apply to a cloud of mist.
Also, I need to grab some dinner, so I won't be able to post for a little bit.Last edited by AlterForm; 2008-07-25 at 07:39 PM.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
SpoilerI use my free action to take a 5 foot step to go back 5 feet (I can still take my five foot step in these conditions.) I then use move a rock to make a small collumn of earth around me its 5 foot high, and it encircles me enitrely.
My bending check is easily high enough to do such.

Re: Avatar the last air bender. Bender battle(and a monk.)!
Moving sluggishly through the freezing cold mist, Rialu makes his way around the bolder, feeling his path so as not to become too disoriented in this haze.
SpoilerI make my move to M7, and make an Air Blast 55 ft. long, clearing the mist from M7 to M18. The DC is all of 9, so it's not a problem. Do I see anything interesting from either of you?
Further, I use my swift action to activate Flowing Air Strike, granting me a bonus to all melee attacks and damage.Last edited by Eighth_Seraph; 2008-07-25 at 08:26 PM.
