Re: Where Dark Elves Rule (An all Monk party 2)
I don't ever carry much, so I am. I do not know about the others though.
Thrando looks around to see what the others say and do. It is impolite to keep anyone waiting. These people seem a bit rude. Why don't I remember any of them. A yak-man is something not easily forgotten.Last edited by expirement10K14; 2008-07-31 at 11:08 PM.

Re: Where Dark Elves Rule (An all Monk party 2)
Lyaeus - half-satyr swordsage
"Hah! As if the master himself had said it! Well done, Ling. You truly are an excellent student to the Master. But have you considered that what you dismiss as competition is a way of challenging yourself to perform? To become more masterful of your abilities? Perhaps some external pressures can take you to levels you can't reach by yourself." Lyaeus' monologue is accompanied by a smile and energy. He clearly enjoys arguing with the believers in the monastic life.
To young Thufir, "Lead on, youngling! Let's get this circus on the road!"

Fu Ling
Fu Ling looks at Lyaeus, as if a little confused.
What do you mean, become MORE masterful? I walk the path of the broken one. There is no more, or less. Just the path. And I am challenged constantly by acting on the will of the master. There is no need for me to compare my skills to those of others, for we all have weaknesses and strengths. That is why we are partied together for a common goal, rather than being sent on an individual mission.

Johnny "Arimus"
Johnny rolls his eyes. "Nothing wrong with a little competition," he comments. "Helps up learn our limits and see what others can do. It would be better settle this tension now rather than let it interfere with our mission. Might was well spar it out now. Might be interesting to see where everyone's training has taken them."
Johnny shrugs. "Otherwise, let's put a end to his and get going. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for us all to prove ourselves."

I walk the way of the monk. Humble and noble. There is no need to show off, it does not make you superior in any way.

Lyaeus - half-satyr swordsage
"Oooo, methinks I touched a nerve," staring at the space formerly occupied by Ling.
Lyaeus walked merrily along once the party started moving, regaling his companions with tales of his experiences - raiding the den of the colossal red dragon Kragatonan for a mystic ruby the size of a human head (and planting evidence it was carried out by a Vecna cultist warlord); rescuing lost children from an evil gnome bard; making a fool of himself at the state dinner with the Prince, the ambassador, and the ambassador's daughter; the cult of Erythnul that was broken and whose high priestess was hung up like a pinata outside the King's gate as a gift; and of the opportunity to join legendary warrior Tsou Chang on his last mission for Emperor Hsing, foiling the plans of the mad troll general Shivan.
"So, what have you guys been up to?"

Re: Where Dark Elves Rule (An all Monk party 2)
"Me? Well, just last week, for an example, I wrestled the fearsome gabbleduck of the elemental plane of earth. An evil wizard had summoned it, but could not control it, and the gabbleduck gabbled him up fast. That, of course, relieved me of dealing with the wizard himself, but had you seen the terrible creature, you would've rather battled dozens of wizards. Three times the gabbleduck gabbled me up into it's stomach, and each time I punched it in the kidneys and wrestled with it's guts, before it spat me up. At the end of the day - me holding his liver as a hostage - we settled down to a deal. The gabbleduck would return to it's homeplane, and bother the local village no more. It asked nothing but it's liver back, and a nice cup of tea before it left. You see, that's why it was so grumpy, why, it hadn't had a proper cup of tea in centuries!" Yuma's expression is completely solemn and serious as he tells the tale.

Re: Where Dark Elves Rule (An all Monk party 2)
Sorry but I have some bad news: some things have come up and my DMing has come to a dead stop. I just don't have any time to run these games. If someone wants to find a DM, I can fill them in on the campaign.

Re: Where Dark Elves Rule (An all Monk party 2)
//Well, that was quicker than normal. No offence intended Kentma57, but I'm yet to be in a PbP game that has actually finished it's adventure. Most of them last one or two weeks. And this one looked to be a lot of fun.
Guess I'll keep hoping *Sigh*
