Re: Blindsight
Felix
Felix snarls at the dwarf Skittering monsters may not build traps, but that will hardly matter if they can kill us easily. And monsters most certainly can call more of their number. You ever fought wolves? I have, while they're hardly as intelligent as you or I, nothing stops them from calling for aid.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

Re: Blindsight
The dwarf draws himself up, trying to match the gnoll's greater height. "Skittering monsters" aren't a match for cold steel and a strong arm, dog boy. Nor are wolves, for that matter, so what are you afraid of? I'm not scared of beasts crawling in the shadows, but goblins, however weak, are clever. That is something to worry about, not some... big... bug!" Realizing he can't hope to loom over someone three feet taller than him, Blanhey turns away and rolls the map out again. You want to plan our route? Go ahead!"

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
While Celeg's arguing companions made it easier to conceal his own passage, they did nothing for his ability to make out the muffled voices ahead.
SpoilerJust a little flavor text for that odd pair of rolls in my last post.

Re: Blindsight
Caleg is able to stay unnoticed but is unable to fully guage the strength of the goblin force. you do see however that there are 2 goblins and a large doglike beast. (make a nature check scout as you are the only one seeing them) One goblin closer to the exit see's the dim light and the animals ears perk up to the sound of the argueing back in the room.
OOC: just as a notice i will be hitting the local golf course tomorrow so i will post again in the morning but then not untill tomorrow night. so will be no afternoon updates.Last edited by juggalotis; 2008-08-03 at 09:22 PM.

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
Celeg froze when he saw the two goblins and their pet. He paused to think about the beast, and realized his companions' arguing appeared to be drawing attention.

Re: Blindsight
Cayis listens to the two argue, frowning. He keeps an eye out for the return of the scout before speaking softly. "I've said it once, and I'll say it again: keep being loud and it won't matter which way we choose. Because we'll bring both of them down on us."

Re: Blindsight
Felix
Felix frowns back. We aren't exactly yelling, and from this distance it would sound very muffled. If our friends up ahead are any indication, angry muffled arguing isn't exactly uncommon.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

Re: Blindsight
The scout recognizes the beast as a Hyena and odd animal for a goblin pet. obviously the crevice would lead to good hunting grounds nearby. a hunting group would explain why the parties numbers are so small.
Caleg remains unseen and the goblin is returning to the others to inform them of the light while the other goblin is trying to learn what has upset the hyena. This would give you a chance to take a surprise round, or return to the others before the goblins come for you.He came out of the closet? wow who could have known he was a bard this whole time.

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
Again resisting temptation, Celeg slipped away, back to his companions.
"Shhh," he hissed. "They have a hyena with the perimeter guards, and I'm pretty sure it could hear you. If we're going to take them, I suggest you let me sneak back up there and see if I can take out the perimeter guards before you come charging up," he whispered.

Celeg
SpoilerI'd prefer to use my existing initiative roll (20), but if I need a new one:
Initiative: (1d20+5)[20]
In fact, thinking about it, since they have quite a distance to cover (at least 20 squares, assuming they didn't hear me before I reached short range), I think my original actions still work as posted, with the exception of moving up the initiative roll...

Re: Blindsight
SpoilerNoticed the thread updated on the front page by sheer chance... I had assumed that the game was over, but I'm still willing to go on if we still have enough.
Can we get a map of how things are situated? It'd help with general tactics.
SpoilerAs for actions, double move 10 squares towards Celeg.

Re: Blindsight
ok caleg is about 2 squares feet past the fork where there is a slight bend in the tunnel the upfront goblin with a sword is at the mouth of the cave entrance ahead of you by roughly 4 squares behind himimmediatly is the hyena and next to the hyena another goblin with a small crossbow.
the rest of you are back at the fork. following caleg when you heard the hyena's snarls indicating you all were noticed.
new actions please caleg. i assume when something happens based on location etc you may wish to change sao i will give that opportunity. He came out of the closet? wow who could have known he was a bard this whole time.

SpoilerI'm a bit confused as well. My plan had been to stop at the far edge of short range (20 squares) from the nearest enemy. I think I'm missing something as to why that didn't work...

Re: Blindsight
if you wish you can still run toward caleg and sorry caleg i missed that you were staying that distance away i was trying to get everything moving again quickly. if your staying 20 squares away (100 feet) you yill be just inside of the hallway leading from the first room. the enemies are still at the lip of theres preparing to advance.

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
Seeing the goblins and their pet about to charge him, Celeg let fly with a flurry of arrows.
SpoilerCeleg will use Twin Strike against the goblins, and spend an action point to use Two Fanged Strike against the Hyena.
Twin Strike:
To Hit Goblin #1: (1d20+7)[8]
Damage: (1d10)[8]
To Hit Goblin #2: (1d20+7)[14]
Damage: (1d10)[3]
Two Fanged Strike:
To Hit the Hyena: (1d20+7)[12]
Damage #1: (1d10+5)[11]
To Hit the Hyena: (1d20+7)[12]
Damage #2: (1d10+5)[9]
If both hit, Celeg does an extra 2 points of damage.
Edit: Darn it, I should have held out for my previous rolls...Last edited by Daryk; 2008-08-18 at 08:21 PM.
