Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
"All right, I'll see if I can make us a shelter for the night. I have no idea what the wilderness is like these days. Should one of us keep watch?"
After waiting for an answer, Elessar goes off to find wood for a fire and to build a lean-to with.

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
Elessar: You don't manage to find much wood, except for some twiggy bushes, but eventually manage to spot a small, stunted almost-tree about three feet tall.
Soon, a camp is set up for the night, with a small fire going. By the time dinner has been consumed, the sun is set and the sky has gone a deep, dark blue colour, the mountains silhouettes on the horizon.Just remember - yelling "Who wrote this ****?!" at the top of your lungs is a normal and accepted part of the editing process.

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
Jonathon had spent most of the time while the others set up camp making sure that their mounts were settled down, before settling down where the fire would be, his long, dexterous fingers disassembling and cleaning his expensive instrument.
He watched idly as the others worked, playing a tuneless, meandering song on his flute, only stopping to eat dinner.
"Well, I think I'm going to turn in"He said pleasantly, and was soon wrapped in his cloak, unused to the strange noises the wilderness made, much different from the city."Fear Vs. Hope. Hardly an even match"
"That's because you think of hope as something light and fragile. My version of hope has calluses and dirt under her fingernails and isn't past bringing brass knuckles to a fight."

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
Kalven
I will not be participating in the watch tonight. I have another task to which I must attend.
He then proceeds to his mount and withdraws a number of potions and powders along with bowls and some bird feathers. He moves over to the edge of the light and takes a seat facing out arranging the items before him. He begins to concentrate and mumbles a number of un-intelligible words.
He takes two of the powders and mixes them, the bowl instantly gives off a blue glow. Next he combines two potions in another bowl with no noticeable result. Finally he takes the bird feathers and places them into a third bowl, followed by the potions and powders poured at the same rate.
Once the items are all combined, Kalven places the final bowl before him and begins to go into a trance, he will stay that way for the entire night, or until he is disturbed.

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
The night passes relatively uneventfully. Sometime after midnight, something howls in the distance, but nothing comes of the unearthly noise.
At dawn, the party is awoken by a flash of light and hooting. An owl, about as tall as Kalven's forearm is long, tawny brown flecked with black, has settled itself on the edge of the bowl containing the spell components, which have now disappeared.
It hoots questioningly at Kalven, studying him with its large, round eyes.Just remember - yelling "Who wrote this ****?!" at the top of your lungs is a normal and accepted part of the editing process.

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
Kalven
Kalvens ayes open when the light flashes. When he looks at sees the owl, His face is split with a wondrous smile. Hello my friend. I am Kalven, and what is your name? He looks at the owl listening to it's response. Well, hello Arties, I sure you and I will be great friends.
He reaches out his arm for the owl to jump onto. When the owl jumps to his arm and is transfered to his shoulder, Kalven grimaces, and you can see scratch marks left on his forearm. We will have to do something about that won't we.
Through the whole exchange, he has been oblivious to the rest of the party. He cleans up the rest of his items from the ground, and turns to return them to his saddlebags. When he sees the rest of the group, the smile leaves his face, but now the stern serious look appears to be a mask.
Well then, I suppose we should prepare to move out.Spoiler

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
You keep walking and resting for the next couple of days, in which you get to know each other and Kalven's new familiar.
On the third day, you come to a river crossing. The river is not deep and not fast, so it is relatively easy to walk across, though grass sticks to your shoes and calves.
It is about an hour after this; just after midday, slightly cooler than the days before.Just remember - yelling "Who wrote this ****?!" at the top of your lungs is a normal and accepted part of the editing process.

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
As Elessar approaches the ditch, a small group of twelve creatures leaps out of the ditch. They are all squat characters, skin a muddy yellow and garments of similar brownish colour. About six of them, standing further back, are carrying javelins, while the ones in front are carrying morningstars.
Surprise Round:
Elessar: The goblin closest to you swings its morningstar, which swipes your shoulder, dealing three damage. Three of the other goblins throw their javelins at you. One misses, and the javelin embeds itself near Nova's foot. One glances ineffectually off your armour. The third punches through a gap in your armour, dealing two damage.
The remaining goblins stealthily arrange themselves in a sort of semicircle around the four of you.Just remember - yelling "Who wrote this ****?!" at the top of your lungs is a normal and accepted part of the editing process.

Re: The Eye of the Druid: Group II
Gentoo44: You step away from the goblins. Upon seeing the unearthly blue energy crackling down your bow, the goblins move into a more defensive stance
Icarus_Smith: Four copies of you appear in the spaces around you. A couple of the goblins almost step back a pace, but are kept in line by the goblins on either side growling at them.
Leon: You cast Entangle on two of the goblins on the edge of the semicircle. The grass around their feet grows unnaturally fast and strong, tying itself around their feet. They slash at it wildly, but it is no use; there is always more grass.
AnIceFan: You ready your action against the goblins.
The Goblins: Two of the goblins at the back throw their javelins at the party. Whistling through the air, one strikes Elessar for two damage. The semicircle moves closer, ignoring the screams of the two Entangled goblins.
OOC:
SpoilerI sent a PM to FF Fanboy, but he hasn't replied. If he eventually replies, we can put him back in the game, but he seems to have jumped off the bandwagon.
