As you look into the forest, it starts to seem rather... safe, inviting, you don't know why but you know that the undead won't follow you there.

He shouts to the rest of the group.
"Hey! Wait up! I think I may have been hasty in suggesting we avoid the undead in there. I don't think any of them will follow us in there."

Re: The horror that is, was, and will be.
Taldon looks back, almost incredulously.
"The undead probably wouldn't follow us off of a cliff either, but the entire point of running is to stay alive. You and I both know that people have gotten lost in that forest and never come out. In fact, we just heard their voices and they didn't sound too happy or safe. Keep your eyes on the prize. When we reach the Northwest corner of the forest, you can go ahead and produce your counterargument, if one exists."I'm try not to be too vain but this was too perfect not to sig.

"The man speaks wise words, and you should follow them, somethings not right about that forest, and I sure as hell, sint gonna be one to get lost in it."

Re: The horror that is, was, and will be.
Malover
Spoiler
You stop running around the woods and start heading towards them. You know you will be safe in there. Everything will be fine. What could be so wrong with the woods? "Come to us, Malover, you are our only hope!"
By now, everyone is about half a mile from the town when the ground shakes again, stronger and harder this time. Looking behind you, rising out of the town is a singular large form. It is about the size of the giant, gray skinned of the undead. Survival me kicks in and NONE of you want to be here. Malover is running towards the woods with a blank look on his smiling face.Last edited by borninbones; 2008-08-12 at 09:47 PM.

Beran stares at Malover as he runs towards his doom. He turns to see the gigantic form of the monstrous undead arise out of the town. Blinking back tears he takes aim at Malover's back and fires an eldritch blast into the ground beside him.

No way to solve this but with force.
Taldon turns back to the half-orc. "Things are about to get ugly. Help me out here."
Taldon runs back to Malover and starts a grapple.

Almost as soon as it had started, the voices go silent as violence erupts between the party members. The giant zombie is now procedding to destroy parts of the town and has not taken notice of the party.

"I'm sorry!" Malover sputters, frightened as hell of the undead giant behind them. Altaire helps him up silently, while he starts shouting.
"Please, let's run! PLEASE!!!" He starts off at a slow lope, then back into the full-strided jog he was at before, Altaire close behind, blinking back bitter tears.Look! It's me!

Re: The horror that is, was, and will be.
The large zombie doesnt seem to take notice of you as you round a bend in the road and the last remnants of Durk dissappear from view. You can still see the road and several carts are pulled off to the side of the road some 500 feet away.

Re: The horror that is, was, and will be.
Taldon looks at the carts, taking a few steps forward before stepping back.
"well, the carts are pulled off by the side of the road and lack beasts of burden. That means that the owners took their steeds and took off as fast as possible.
...
their zombies are probably a bit further up the road.
...
I'd go check out those carts but I just know that there's a zombie cat or zombie mule hiding somewhere. Oh well, we'd have to fight one eventually. Let's check this out."
Taldon walks cautiously towards the carts, weapon drawn. He readies an action to slash any undead that come into his line of sight.Last edited by Realms of Chaos; 2008-08-15 at 10:34 AM.

Party: Well, is anyone following me to the carts of certain death?
BorninBones: I'm sorry if you have homework (or even worse, regular work ) but generally speaking, if you can't control the environment of a horror campaign (can't dim the tone of this thread, make it white letters on black, make eerie music play when we link to it, none of which I think you can do), the most effective tool of a horror DM is to continually drive home the horror, something that in this case requires frequent posting.I'm try not to be too vain but this was too perfect not to sig.

The small human draws his crossbow and loads a quarrel.
"Keep low and I'll cover you."
He glances around to make sure no one is sneeking up behind him before aiming the bow in the direction of the carts.

Re: The horror that is, was, and will be.
To all who have come to this roleplaying adventure, I am sorry. My access to the internet has been destroyed and removed from life. It will even be some time before I can even see replies to this message. I am sorry to everyone involved. You have been MORE then patient with me and my spurtedness of replying. I was expecting some interuption but certainly not this. I will miss you all. I really wish I could continue and I recomend that someone take over for me in this time of trouble. I have lost pretty close to all ability to roleplay and will miss it greatly. And I will miss all of you.
