Re: Jack Squat's Justlessly Juxtaposed Random Banter #101
Jibar, my dearest catmuffin, you should write a blog. I find them to be immensley fun when I think of something to talk about. My life being somewhat dull I have to find other things blog about.
If you do one I promise to be an avid reader. If you do it on livejournal I can easily read it with little to no effort, which surely is what the internet's for.
I now subtly say that there's a link to my blog in my sig.I now have a blog. Have a look if you wish. It contains those naughty profanities that you won't find here. If you like what you read send me a PM, or if you don't like it. I'd like to know how many people here read it.
Avatar done by me. If you want one then you clearly have no taste. I'll do one happily. You just have no taste.

Hehe, I just got fired from another writing gig...
I need to stop being so inflammatory with my prose.
Its sad, I have been fired from every journalism/writing/etc job I have ever had since college because I exercised my 1st amendment rights...
It didn't pay any money, I did it for fun, so its not a big loss. But still...

And every time anyone posts that, I'll just have to post this just in case there's someone who hasn't seen the contextual awesomeness.

Re: Jack Squat's Justlessly Juxtaposed Random Banter #101
Its okay, I totally missed this post this morning... I live on the northside of Norman, by Norman North High School. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, but loved Norman so much after starting OU that I decided to live here after I got my degree.
I did the Bohemian thing for a while in California, trying to find something to write about (my degree was in Professional Writing) but decided that that lifestyle wasn't for me. Plus I met a girl while visiting my parents and decided that my word processor would work just as well in OK. So I came back...

Re: Jack Squat's Justlessly Juxtaposed Random Banter #101
When writing as work-for-hire what the commissioning editor wants is always right; he's the one paying the piper. Not amending what you've written to suit the requirements of the person paying you isn't "exercising your First Amendment right to free speech", it's doing half a job (just like a cowboy builder). Save inflammatory for the blog.
That philosophical difference between us aside, I hope you have something else lined up. It's not a good time to be a struggling writer ya know.Last edited by bosssmiley; 2008-08-22 at 07:55 AM.

Re: Jack Squat's Justlessly Juxtaposed Random Banter #101
Believe me, I know that you are right in what you say. And I try to keep that mentality. But I'm just too darn impetuous for my own good.
After a couple of months at a single type of job I tend to get bored and then decide to "branch out" a little.
But anyhow, its always nice to meet a fellow writer who understands the trials and tribulations that we all face...
Good to meet you, friend!

Re: Jack Squat's Justlessly Juxtaposed Random Banter #101
GAH! I look away for a few moments to torment the paladin and all of a sudden I'm the center of attention...
...cool.
Based on a game I ran in Structured a few months back: here
Pretty standard horror/suspense fare. It's kinda in flux right now because I made some drastic changes that necessitated a complete rewrite of some major scenes.
I've been meaning to start a blog or something to help keep certain interested parties appraised of what's going on, just never got around to it...stupid day job...

Throw in some mention of people eating dragon steaks. The more cameos the better.

I hope we don't ruin Cristo's book by forcing in a bunch of cameos. That would be sad

A sci fi space opera with American Civil War influences? That actually sounds kind of cool.
