    Bake delicious cookies?

Honestly, what did you expect from the cookiemonster... Or maybe pancakes I guess.... And in dutch, koeken = cookies, and pancakes = pannekoeken, so my culture has them like, as a subspecie of cookies or something....

Situations like these are why I keep a) microwave taquitos lying around or b) turkey bacon for sandwiches. Neither take more than a few minutes in the microwave.

Side note: since folks have expressed interest (and to help keep my lazy butt in gear), I started a blog to keep track of progress on my book. It's here

Blame the English curriculum that we have over here.

I haven't studied Hamlet, but we're studying the Matrix, and I don't expect to be literate for another two years.

Sounds like you need comfort food, something warming, soothing and - above all - easy to do:

    Welsh rarebit
    Macaroni cheese
    Spaghetti bolognese
Cream of tomato soup with crusty bread
    ...

I don't think I had a class that got seriously into Hamlet until I was a Senior in college...

In between we studied Anne Rice, Stephen King, a slew of classical authors like Dickens (*vomits*), and a couple contemporaries.

At GCSE, we did a thing comparing themes or something in one scene each from The Matrix, Gladiator and Monty Python's Holy Grail
    Hamlet we did for AS.

    The Matrix? Hmmm, interesting choice.

We studied Hamlet last year (Senior year in High School, although it was a college-level class, about sophomore level) and I loved the book. You should definately read it alongside any English classes you're taking.

Exactly. We get to watch an awesome movie, but the teacher also rabbits on about the pattern on the chairs and the cartoon shots and the relation to the message, or, pardon me, the theme in the movie. *groan*

A friend of mine once had a drama teacher called Mr. Anderson. Sadly my friend's Hugo Weaving impression was decidedly sub-par.

As far as movies to study for their intricacy, message and theme, you really should be studying 12 Monkeys. The director went all out for that one, wasting a whole day of shooting for a 5 second shot because the hamster wouldn't run. Because of this, they now call his dedication to detail "The Hamster Factor".

So, maybe some of you people remember that rant I made about the people who bullied me a long time ago. Well, after a year they're back, and aggressively knocking on my windows and doors at 3am. Joy.

I've called the police and they should be here soon. Still, I'm freakin' scared.

Really? Gilliam never really struck me as a perfectionist of that sort. I figured that if something like that happened during filming, he'd just go with it and have a still hamster in the shot. Maybe just cause some of his stuff has such a random quality that you think that some of it just "happened" and he left it in. Huh.

Hehe...according to imdb, Gilliam gave Bruce Willis a list of "Bruce Willis Acting Clichés" he wanted Willis to avoid. Freaking win. (Of course, I haven't seen this one yet, so I don't know if it actually improved Willis's acting or not...I'll have to watch it sometime)
