Somehow I don't find that image very appealing...
'course, I'm quite the little dictator myself. My friends swear they will assassinate me if I ever achieve any level of real political power because they know all my Orwellian ideals.

Haha, my prime goal if I ever become rich is to build a 18th Century Prussian Palace, complete with a couple hundered reenactors who would dress as Prussian soldiers of the period and perform parade drills for me...

Ahh... maybe thats why I'm not rich. Because I would get all "The Magic Christian."

Do you remember the lift I got trapped in last week?
Well, the same lift just tripped me up this evening.
I pushed the button, the doors opened, I smiled at the lady inside and took a step...the evil lift knocked my heel off balance and I went straight down. Full face-plant. Completely freaked out the woman who was in there.

Ok, so it's slightly my fault for wearing these:

But still. The lift hates me. And I have to use it every day.

Oh, and the Fish Festival today is nice and all, but so many tourists and general vistors. I walked a mile and a bit to get to Lidls and ecery. Single. Road. Without double yellow lines is crammed to the brim with cars. As is the Green, and the footie field quarter of a mile away to the west.
All the shops that normally close early for the Bank Holiday are all open extra hours today and the chippie's been running non-stop since eleven o'clock. And it's Elder Younger Brother's turn to go chippie tonight too. I don't envy him, but I may follow and snicker at him while he joins the queue that's out the shop and several yards up the hill.
Funny thing though, this summer I've seen more German tourists than any other country. Last year it was Americans. Although when I vvolunteered at the FIsh Festival (I got to get in free that way) I kept a tally of tourists from foreign countries and I had about ten Japanese people, twenty four French and numerous others.
Great fun talking to them all though.
    Great fun.
And all this for the Blessing of the Fleet.

I just finished a really interesting trilogy: Idlewild, Edenborn, Everfree. Post-apocalypic rebuilding kind of theme (but no weird mohawked biker gangs or anything). It kinda fell apart in Everfree when he seemed to forget that he wasn't writing Contact, but other than that it was surprisingly good.

Books are awesome. I don't know everyone in the bookstore I go to, because it's huge. But they have many books, and I love them for it. And being huge, they can order slightly obscure books that most places have never heard of.

I got 'Ravenor Returned' from them, after having searched nearly everywhere and not found it.

Have a disease wipe out everyone (and I mean everyone) except a dozen cryo-frozen people genetically engineered to be resistant to the disease and start the series with them just coming out of cryo.
